Percocet - How Is It Prescribed To Children?
UpdatedMy grandson was prescribed liquid Percocet after his tonsils were taken out. How much do they water it down?

What dosage was he prescribed?
It isn't watered down, per se, they do have to be careful how much fluid they mix it with, in order to maintain the stability of the medication, as well as making sure the patient gets the proper dosage.
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
Having tonsils removed can be very painful, so this a normal prescription that is given afterwards. Short term use of it should not result in addiction, or any other problems.
