I will be traveling to Mexico very soon. And besides the logical precautions like not drinking water or drinks with ice or raw foods and vegetables, is there any medication I can take beforehand to prevent the horrible Moctezuma's revenge...someone told me to take Pentrexyl..is this right ? and what dosage and how often...

Pentrexyl is a brand of ampicillin available in some countries like Norway and Mexico but not available in the United States.

The usual adult dosage for this medication is 250 to 500 mg orally every 6 hours for 5-10 days, depending on the nature and severity of the infection.

I wouldn't recommend taking it until you have an infection though, otherwise treatment may prove to be useless, due to antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria.

I hope this info helps!
