Penicillin V And Doxycycline

Hi. I've been taking Penicillin for a week and am no better. Can I switch to Doxycycline without a bad reaction?

The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

What type of infection is being treated? Are you on any other medications?
