Paying For Ampyra
UpdatedIs anyone paying out of pocket for Ampyra? The monthly retail cost is prohibitive. If you don't qualify for financial assistance, it is next to impossible to take this drug without going bankrupt. All this for a drug with a very unimpressive track record. I'm having difficulty justifying this experimental journey unless the drug company supplies the meds at no cost. Am I alone in my thinking?

Did you try the assistance program directly from the manufacturer?
Those programs are often more generous than those provided by your county, or state. You can find out more and apply by calling them at 888-881-1918.

I am waiting to receive a call back from their financial assistance program. So far, I have heard nothing for 3 days.
I hope I qualify because that is the only way I will be able to afford this medication.
I find it incredulous that anyone is paying the full retail price for what amounts to a sophisticated clinical trial.
Anyone out there who is paying full price out of pocket, please speak up. thanks.
IT IS affordable through Skip's Pharmacy in Boca Raton, FL (they ship). For 120 5mg caps it's only about $30 (that's enough for 10mg twice a day for 30 days)!!!. Call one of their pharmacists with any questions 561-218-0111
While you're at ask them about Low Dose Naltrexone. MS'ers are having great results on this affordable drug!!!
