I contacted Valeant Assistance Drug Program and I was faxed the proper papers to complete and have my Gastro. Doc. fill out and submit a script along with my SS earnings for 2013. This was done on 7/7/14. If would be approved the drug would cost me nothing!! Well this afternoon (7/22/14) I received a call from them and they did not approve me for the drug because I have AVMED/Medicare even though my insurance will not fill the script. This really sucks. What does a person have to do to get the proper medicine for IBS. Bentyl doesn't work, I got very sick from it. I am clueless and very upset about this.

Hello, Janice! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having.

Has your insurance given any specific reason why they won't cover it?

That might be something that you can appeal, or get special exception for, they usually do allow that in some cases.
