I've been clean from alcohol for 30 hours. I've had a gallon of water yesterday and one before testing. I also drank a creatine mixture to raise my levels. Do you think I'd pass an EtG?

Yes, you should definitely pass. Here's my experience. I get tested randomly once a week and I never get tested on the weekends. One week I drank 9 beers on Wednesday night, Thursday night I had way too much to drink probably 12 drinks and Friday I drank around 10 drinks. The next day, Saturday, I had three drinks after work which was around 11 pm. That's four nights in a row I drank. I was tested that Monday at 5:30 pm, roughly 42 hours later and I passed. Also in the past i've had two 12 ounce craft IPA's and have passed in 19 hours.

For months I didn't drink out of fear of failing the tests. However after reading multiple studies on etg testing I figured I'd take the chance, the test isn't as sensitive as people make it out to be.

What I've found is that each drink produces about 5000-8000 etg metabolites depending on alcohol concentration. The etg half-life is about 2 or 3 hours and peaks in your system about 6 to 12 hours after your last sip of alcohol depending on how much you drank. If you had a couple of beers its probably on the lower end, if you got wasted its probably up towards the higher end of 10-12 hours. So if you want to get a rough estimate of your current etg count you first need to add up the amount drinks you had and figure out when your last sip was. Then add 9 to 12 hours from the time of your last sip and begin to divide the amount of etg metabolites in half for every 2-3 hours that have passed since that time. I usually do every 3 hours to get an idea what the highest amount could possibly be.

Example- you had 12 drinks on Friday and stopped drinking at 12 am and you test Monday at 5:00 pm. I'll say each drink was 6000 etg metabolites. 12 (drinks) x 6000= 72,000 etg's roughly which will be in your system at peak which is at 9:00 am Saturday. Start dividing. 12:00pm- 36,000 etg, 3:00pm - 18,000 etg, 6:00pm - 9,000 etg , 9:00pm - 4,500 etg, 12am (Sunday) - 2,250 etg, 3:00am (Sunday) - 1,125, 6:00am (Sunday)- 562 etg, 9:00am (Sunday)- 281.25 etg, 12pm (Sunday) - 140.62 etg and finally 3:00pm (Sunday) - Undetectable. The most sensitive test can detect 100 ng/ml of etg in urine. So theoretically 12 drinks should be eliminated in 39 hours or so.

Last thing, etg doesnt accumulate in your system. They metabolize at a constant rate. Meaning your etg metabolites from Wednesday nights drinking session will be gone by by Friday even if you drank on Thursday they won't stop metabolizing. However, they will overlap for a certain period of time. If you drink Wednesday and Thursday both etg's produced from those drinking sessions will overlap for some time until Wednesdays etgs are gone at some point on Friday, after that Thursday nights etg will be the only metabolites remaining in your system.

Hopefully this post helps and wasn't too confusing. I've never failed a test and I always follow those calculations. Overall, etg production varies from person to person. Im a 22 year old college student, so drinking is hard to avoid. If you're smart about it you can pass the tests. Record the days you get tested, build a chart. You'll get a good idea when its going to happen. Don't drink on holidays. However, if you find that you can't take a week or more off from drinking then you probably have an issue, and I recommend you stay loyal to the program you're on.

With luck you will be clean. My experience was 4 beers and roughly 24 hrs and failed. 2 shots of Vodka is too close to call in that time frame. With luck, the water and vitamins helped with the EtG to leave your system just a little quicker. Your body may be slower or quicker in the way it metabolizes also! Please tell us how it worked out. Also, please be aware of dilution as sometimes the system will say 'failure' for that.

So my 2 small shots of vodka within the same 30 mins, at 2pm on sunday. Rest of day 6 16 oz water. Next day gallon of water multivitamin, gave sample 25 hrs total later. Still haven't heard of my result yet.

Three glasses of wine (12% Alcohol) consumed over 3 hours Positive EtG above the 500 ng/mL cutoff level for 32 hours Concentration peaking at 68,000 ng/mL after 14 hours
Six shots of vodka over 3 hours ETG in the range of 10,000 ng/mL –100,000 ng/mL. Peaked at 16 hours and detectable for 54 hours

It seems that she should be fine depending on the cutoff. The alcohol content is that of around 1/2 a beer.

This is really a question for my Gfriend, she drank 5 NA beer "ODouls" and clamato, and came up for ETG test the next day, so roughly 20 hours after consuming this, I wonder if the ETG will be above the minimal limits. she purposely drinks NA beer because of the sensitivity of her job, but usually does not drink at all.

Most studies are often only mentioning last drink. True. But it is important to know as long alcohol is in bloodstream the liver is metabolizing, therefore still producing ETG. This is why even environmental products can cause a positive and MRD cannot differentiate between alcohol use and incidental exposure on lower levels.
I always recommend to know you are 00 before calculating your possible ETG. Just as a safer precaution.

It actually has nothing to do with your bac all the studies were conducted from the last drink you had the bac thing is a myth I have spoke with several doctors about this.

I am no expert by far, if I was I would not have failed this test way back. One guy that goes to this must attend programs, claims to drink everyday but, only recently failed an ETG. He says that he drank prior to reporting in for the test (really dumb in MHO). Myself, I have stayed sober, a sip, and I mean only a sip here and there. I do enjoy NA BEER on a regular basis, not odouls, or Coors, but companies like Becks, St Paul I Girl, even Guinness has an NA BEER. Probation is the only reason I haven't been drinking and when off I will drink "real" beer again. During all of this, I have been doing a lot of research on ERG; the 80 hour test seems to be not so true and I would venture to say 60 hrs to be more accurate. Now many things fall into place, chronic drinkers will likely fail easier than a lite drinker and a heavier person could probably get away easier than a skinny person. Regardless if a person is on probation, they probably shouldn't be drinking! In AZ, the tests are normally done through TASC, look up the hours of operation, most that I have seen close 7:00 pm on weekdays and 12 noon on weekends. Use the time to your advantage if you must drink. Also drink plenty of water the day of but cut it out a few hours prior to wiz. Another thing, max out on a multivitamin, it makes your pee yellow! When drinking water use Creatine Supplements as much as you can. I normally drink a shot of apple cider vinegar with the "mother" everyday, but don't think that has any effect. Okay, I failed twice, once genuine drinking and got 2 days jail for that, another time was because of a barrel I was cleaning out to make a compost bin, it had a few gallons of antifreeze in it and the best way to explain was inhalation, and absorption through skin, after one prior failure that was no "excuse" to the PO. Once caught you will be guilty always! Also remember that many household, automotive, laundry, and cleaning products do contain alcohol. This information can be found on the internet. I hope this can help you, but the best is to abstain.

Today October 22nd I had two little shots of vodka; the ones from the liquor store that are $0.99, not knowing that I would have a random test on October 23rd at 4 p.m. that also includes ETG. I was caught off guard because I just tested Thursday and I have not had anything to drink other than that I do drink plenty of water. What are the odds of passing that ETG?

64 hour since 0 BHC, and 80 plus hour no drink!! You will be just fine!! The 80hr window is more of a scare, except for many chronic drinkers!

If I drank 3 glasses of wine 14% and a bottle of sake 14% with dinner. Not sure if I finished the bottle on Thursday 5-8:30pm and might have to test Monday at 4pm. What are my chances of passing. Drank a ton of water yeastersay. Drinking a ton of water today. Took vitamins. I’m worried.

Yes they do test for everything.
In most programs they only send to the lab to confirm positive results.
