Painkillers For Servere Back Injury
UpdatedIn March of 2014 I was involved in a bus accident on lovely SEPTA. The i**** bus driver hit a PARKED VAN on the Blvd during clear weather. Anyway, the bus was partially destroyed and I suffered two herniated discs which have caused me no end of pain. The lawyer I retained sent me to MRCP where I received physical therapy. It helped for awhile but after a period of time it just stopped helping. Now I am in the situation where I am in pain EVERY DAY. If feels like a knife is twisted in the middle of my back at all times because of the pain. The fat shyt Dr. at this place, Dr. Silverman, prescribed me a series of medicines that did NOT work: Tramadol, Naproyxen, and Gabantin. None of these are narcotics but the lying officer manager said they were. Its stupid to lie about this because the information is easily verifiable. My sister is a pharmacist with Ft. Hood in TX so I can just ask her, or if I don't want to call long distance just check with my local pharmacy. I know she (the office manager) was just trying to cover for this Silverman b@stard, who finally admitted that he "can't" prescribe anything else for me. It's not that he can't, he just doesn't want to! All of these doctors are afraid to prescribe narcotics because of their precious DEA numbers. Well, if you are not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't be worried about DEA scrutiny. I am supposed to be getting cortisone shots on October 9th so hopefully these will help. In the meantime I am walking around in AGONY. I really hate this Silverman and I hate his lying office manager. She also said that you need "blood tests: in order to get narcotics prescribed. I never heard of that before, either. Why do these people continue to insult my intelligence like this?
In the meantime I have send away to a company in California for lortab elixir. This has worked for me before. I a NOT an addict, I just want some relief from this constant pain. Yes, I know that this is risky and very expensive. You have to send them a money order upfront. Who knows if I will ever get my product. But I will keep you posted as to what happens. I am sick of this s*** surrounding opiates. Yes, there are lots of addicts around, but there are millions more of us who are in serious pain and need help. I find it reprehensible that this doctor knows I am walking around in severe pain and apparently does not care. I am sorry but f*** him. Why do doctors deserve our respect when then don't give us any? The paralegal at my attorney's office was nice, but she made some useless suggestions, like go to the emergency room. The closest emergency room to me is Nazareth, and while it isn't drug infested as other hospitals in the area, those uptight Catholics are just going to tell you to take some Motrin and see your family doctor. I just signed up with a new family doctor today. So I am really going to go into her office and say "hey doc, I know you don't know me from Adam, but I need some heavy duty pain meds, maybe some percs?" This is not going to happen!

Hello, Melissa! How are you? I am very sorry that you're in pain and suffering, no one deserves that.
As to the issue with the doctor not prescribing narcotics, there's a chance it was done because you were asking about them. Doctor's are taught to view that as being drug seeking behavior and to not prescribe in such instances. That could also explain why they said they can't prescribe anything else for you. Even though you obviously aren't drug seeking, if the doctor or their staff feel that they have reason to be concerned that you might be, they can't risk prescribing such medications, due to the repercussions they would face, which could include loss of their license to practice medicine, fines and jail time.
And due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, your new PCP won't be able to prescribe them for you, either. They'll need to refer you to pain management.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Have you consulted a specialist? This might be something that could be surgically fixed to enable you to become pain free.
