Pain Relief In The Northwest

I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia, inflammatory arthritis, and bulging discs in my back. So far the doctors haven’t been able to do much to help with the various treatments that they are having me undergo. I had a medial branch block done last week, which is basically going in and numbing your nerves and it is supposed to make your pain go away for about six hours, if it works they go in and fry the nerve endings in the same area. Problem is since the initial procedure my pain went from a normal 5 to 6 to a regular 7 to 8 and that is if I don’t do anything… at all. My regular doctor was prescribing Norco 5/325 for me but now that I am “associated†with the pain center, she would like me to see them for everything from here on out. My goal is to find a treatment method that doesn’t require any pain medication if that is possible, but in the meantime there has to be a happy medium. I couldn’t drive my daughter to school this morning because I was in too much pain to walk to the car, I had to call a friend and get them to do it. This was the hardest moment I have had to deal with in awhile. How do or where do I find a doctor that isn’t scared of the regulations that are out there to prescribe something that is actually working for me … while they try all the things they want to do with me to see if anything else works. I used to take really strong medication a few years ago and have no desire to take that again, I was a pain free zombie and that wasn’t ok either. I live in Northwest Montana.

Hello,

I think if your goal is to find a treatment method that doesn't require any pain medication, it may be wise to turn to good old mother nature. Fresh raw fruits and vegetables, juiced or eaten daily at almost every meal, would offer a significant boost to your body's ability to heal itself over time. This is probably the approach I would take if I were in your shoes, as well as even considering medical marijuana as a way to help cope mentally and emotionally with any pain during your healing process. I'd also be open to trying acupuncture, acupressure, various herbs and essential oils, daily meditation, and any other 'out of the box' treatment options.

Most people just stick with prescription drugs and get hooked for years before having to withdrawal and face more pain on top of their pain. It's a method that in my opinion doesn't appear to have any long term benefits outside of temporarily covering up the pain. I think other cultures do it right by healing the body from the inside-out as opposed to putting a blanket on the sore, so to speak.

I hope this advice helps in anyway!
