Pain Management Solution Help
UpdatedI have serious pain issues due to multiple construction accidents and a lifetime of heavy lifting. I was dismissed from Bluegrass Pain Specialist for coming up positive for THC because I was seeking alternative medications in lieu of increasing my dosage of hydrocodone. I am 55 and have two brothers that have died because of high doses of hydrocodone and oxycodone. The hydrocodone really helps, however, I do not want to increase my dosage. I now suffer. Please help.

If you are lucky enough to have a good Methadone clinic near you, I would go on that. Then, you can wean off, VERY SLOWLY though, like a few Milligrams at a time after you reach a comfortable level for you. Or simply stay on it (called Maintenance). It is an answer for many Oxycontin users. I will say that it is not as good at pain relief, and has a stigma attached, but it is a controlled way to get what you need (and they do drug panels for illicit drugs, but I doubt THC), though I live in Ca. I see MANY people now on it for OXY (not just illicit drugs), including myself who are on it due to addiction to pain pills. But if you have REAL chronic pain, it would be better to see a pain specialist! But unfortunately, there is a big panic regarding pain control in this country right now among Dr's, even among pain specialists like my husband sees, who says he is pressured to cut him back even though it won't work at lower levels by the DEA (who know NOTHING virtually compared to MD's, right, unless you are diagnosed with a terminal disease. Sounds like this runs in your family. My husband is going through the same thing now, he was in construction also and fell off a scaffold hurting his back and had to have surgical intervention, which only helped a bit. Good luck to you!
Kratom is legal almost everywhere. Forums on here talk about it, also research potentiators.
It would Help to know what State you are in! If you are in True Chronic Pain & live in Oregon lmk!
i have been suffering w/cronic pain for decades -- was doing good till the govt thought they needed to tell my drs how to do their job -- i lost almost 100 pounds till the med cuts which also cut my activities (except exercising my elbow) i was researching spinal cord simulators at that time -- i continued looking on line for more info --- there are videos on youtube by both the companies and the patients --- channel djporkchop73 has a 3 year history on his experiences --- he has a boston scientific scs as do i --- i go in for my follow up (after surgery) this week its been a lil bit over a month --- to get a scs there is a lil bit of paperwork to fill out and if that goes well then there will be a trial run (up to a week of wearing it on a belt) if trial ggoes well then they will set up a time to get an implanted unit (both procedures take about an hour of out patient procedure) do some research then discuss with your pain dr and they will probably set you up with a neurologist to talk about getting a procedure done --- mine is helping but it still takes some pain meds but no where near what it took b4 the govt mandatory cutbacks ---- not telling you what to do just letting you in on another option that you may already know about --- hope you find some relief --- be well
