Pain Management For Ra And Chron's Neck Problems (Top voted first)
UpdatedHello, I have been living with these problems for many years and as of now, I am taking 2 shots of Cimzia a month, 5mg prednisone a day And 25mg of norco a day.
I have in the past taken Remicade, Humara and one other biologic that I have forgotten.
My Primary prescribes the norco. The others are handled by the Rheumatologist.
I am working full time as a steamfitter and work on gas pipelines. consequently
most days If I am working the pipeline I wont take the norco as prescribed so as not to be impaired while working, I have about 4 years until I can retire. I can barely
get around after work and am needing to take the norco 20mg as soon as I get off work. I see my primary once a year and the appointment is coming up soon.
My question is what alternative medication would I want to talk to my dr. to help my situation. I have taken bextra, and Celebrex Before I was diagnosed with the ra
Thanks for any and all replies.

Sorry, I got busy at work and forgot this thread.
I am prescribed 5mg Norco up to 5x a day.
because of my work, I take 1 plus some Tylenol when I get up, but I wont take any till after work.
Thanks for the advise on the others and I will research these and maybe ask the doctor.
I cant take any that will cause impairment while I work as my conscious wont allow it.
There is no Norco available in 20mg or 25mg doses, do you mean you're doubling up on them? The maximum dose available of the combination medication that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.
You may do better with a time released medication, such as Oxycontin, MS Contin, Opana ER or Duragesic, only your doctor can decide which would be best for you to try, but those are some ideas that you can ask about.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?
