This is not working for me. What do I need to say to convince my Dr to change to oxycodone? ## How you tell the Dr. you want to change? That you want to change back to your old meds, pain pill. ## Just be honest with your doctor, tell them that the new medication isn't working for you, but you should do so, without asking for a specific replacement medication, let them suggest a solution, and then discuss your options from there. Oxycodone has a tendency to be addictive and is highly abused, which makes many doctors reluctant to prescribe it. It's other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Does anyone else have any advice to...

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone here takes Fentora for noncancer related pain? Last time I took it was 2013 when my doctor was able to write off label prescriptions for it but then my insurance stopped covering it. Also, with the many fentanyl related deaths lately, it's even harder to get the medication. Thing is, I have new prescription drug insurance and Fentora is in the formulary. I'm waiting to hear back from my Dr. about getting a prescription for it but thought I'd also post here to see if others have Fentora prescribed to them? I was taking Fentora to treat breakthrough neuropathic pain. FYI, I have an intrathecal pump which has baclofen and hydromorphone. The baclofen helps the spasms tremendously but the hydromorphone isn't doing much for the pain, I still ge...
Please help. My doctor just switched me from 10/325 Norco, 7 daily, to Morphine Sulfate 100mg ER. I am depressed, sleeping & paranoid. What to do? ## Please someone help me. Morphine does not give me the feeling of well being like Hydrocodone did before they began fooling around with it. Hydrocodone now does not relief pain, It is just crap.. I use to love life, cooking, working, people etc, but now on this morphine 100 mg, Three times daily, I feel like crap and no interest in anything, Does anyONE have any advice. Am I taking the morphine wrong? Is there a combination of anything I could talk to my Doctor about. My Doc had to fight with the "insurance company " ???? to get the morphine TID ## The feeling of well being was a side effect that some people experience from these ...
my spouse is suffering from the above as a result of shingles. The commonly used drugs of choice(Lyrica & other) do little to ease her constant pain in the neck & shoulder area. what about acupunchure ? This has been going on for 2+ yr's and no medical Dr. has come up w/any help. ## It wouldn't hurt to give it a try. Acupuncture relieves pain and is for therapeutic purposes. According to traditional Chinese medical theory, these acupuncture points lie along meridians along which qi, the vital energy, flows. There is no known anatomical or histological basis for the existence of acupuncture points or meridians. To read more about Acupuncture click on the link below... Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## Hi, Your spouse (sor...
HELP; i suffered severe spinal injuries nov 2004; first i was prescribed T3's for pain, then tramadol, oxycocet, then oxycontin, anf finally was placed on fentanyl; Due to problems with the patch I chose to start a drug reduction strategy; I went from 50 mg patch's every 48 hrs to every 3 days for a month, then to a 25mg patch every 3 days for a month; then stopped cold turkey, i have some 10 mg ihc oxycontin i take when the pain is unbearable but am having terrible insomnia and just feel like hell warmed over, chills, nausea, feeling yukky. so far i have been able to limit the 10 mgs to 3 a week, but when i take a 10 mg oxy, i feel alot better...what can i do to get off all meds? ## Well, the first thing you have to understand is that Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic, it is ac...
I found a pill that has an imprint on one side A2 and aspirin on the other someone told me this is a pain pill like vicodin. Can you tell me what it is? ## Hello, Gio! How are you? No, it contains Aspirin, exactly as it says. This tablet is manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 325mgs of it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a white bar-shaped pill with "A 2" on one side with the 3 scores. I was told it's Alprazolam 2 mg. It breaks into four parts but I'm just not sure. I'm in Australia. Please help.
white round pill R - p on one side 20 on the other ## Hello, Curtis! How are you? Is there actually a hyphen on it? If not, the tablet with RP 20 is manufactured by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 20mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies this mediation as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## This medication is garbage and it does nothing for your pain. It's either a placebo or a total fake . I get no relief from RP 20 and no retailer has heard of it . I'm sure there will be trouble from this . Good luck to the liars ## AMEN I AGREE AND PUT IT IN YOUR COFFEE TO MAKE IT SWEETER ## I got a white tablet pill that looked like a aspir...
Finally weaned off the fentanyl patch this week. It's been 6 days. As I was weaning my craving/ need for Norco has increased. I'm trying next to wean off the Norco 10/325 6 a day but having a very tough time both pain wise and withdrawal wise. Clonidine has helped but not much. How long does it take for Norco to get out of your system and what helps with the WD symptoms. This all stared after 3 back surgeries and has been going on for 7 years. ## Hello, John! How are you doing? When coming off of opiates, it is normal to experience withdrawal symptoms, which can include rebound pain. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, fever, chills and diarrhea. There's really nothing else that will specifically help with the withdrawal symptoms, except for tapering very s...
Its a round pill about a dime size, it has C over a CH and it can be broke into half between the letters. The other side is blank and it is kind of a chalky substance. Does anyone know what it is? ## its ia a co dydramol tablet used fot relaxing the muscles, poss given for back pain. ## I found a circular white tablet with just a ch on one side and blank on the other. Its chalky substance and its about the size of a nickel and less that half and inch thick. What is it? Is it the co dry-whatever? ## Hello, I found a pill that matches your description. Co-Codamol 8/500mg Tablets are white round pills with the imprint C / CH with a score between them on side and no markings on the other side. The tablets are not coated which would give them a chalky texture. These pills are prescription on...
I'm taking oxymorphone 20mg ER. I used to take the 30's which worked wonders. Now my msil in pharmacy is not filling for this anymore. So my question is what new opioids are equivalent to my oxymorphone? Exalgo, Morphabond, Methadone, Fentanyl, Demerol, Nucynta or Fentanyl? Anyone taking any of these I'd like your opinion. I really don't want to change meds but..... ## There really is no best opioid that anyone can recommend, since it can vary from person to person. We are all different, so what works well for someone else may not work at all for you, and vice-versa. Most opioids carry the risk of being habit forming, and causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation. Fentanyl is the strongest you can get for use outside of a monitored healt...
will toradol show up in a urine drug test, even with gmcs testing? ## If they were to test for it, it would. Ketorolac (Toradol) is a is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and not a controlled substance so "most" urine drug screens "probably" will not test for it. More information about this drug can be viewed in the link below: Do you have any other questions or comments concerning this drug? Please post back if you do. ## If urine is mailed to a lab for testing, do they check for Toradol?
i take dilaudid and tramadol and have been for a least 3 years, i take several 8mg dilaudid at a time. i reember demerol working nicely while i was in the hospital....how do i gwt me dr to give me that? ## Hi shawn, Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you if your doctor doesn't already have them. Then, the best approach in my opinion, is to discuss up front and honestly what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. Most doctors will then take it under consideration and hear you out if you approach them in this manner, with what you believe to be most helpful to your condition. I think a lot of patients don't get the medica...
I WANT TO KNOW HOW CAN A PAIN CLINIC WHERE I AND OTHERS HAD CONTRACTS JUST DROP US AS PATIENTS OVER NIGHT WITH A 30 DAY FILL AND NO SUPPORT. IT TAKES TIME TO GET IN PAIN MANAGEMENT. YOU NEED REFERRAL, RECORDS, ETC. IN THE MEAN TIME I AM OUT OF PAIN MEDS SOON AND MY PRIMARY SAYS SHE IS LIMITED IN ABILITY BUT NOS THE SITUATION BUT IS NOT EVEN WILLING TO FILL ALL MY MEDS UNTIL I GET IN SOMEWHERE ELSE. HOW CAN I FIND SOMEONE IN PORTLAND, OR AREA OR VANCOUVER THAT CAN GET ME IN FAST AND WILL PRESCRIBE OPIATE PAIN MEDS? I AM GETTING READY TO HAVE A COLOSTOMY AND WONT DO IT WITHOUT PAIN MANG. ON BOARD. FROM PAST EXPERIENCE MOST DOCS WONT UP OR KNOW HOW TO TREAT PAIN MANG. PATIENTS AND WONT GIVE ADDITIONAL MED AFTER SURGERY, LEAVING US TO SUFFER MORE AND MORE RISKS. SORRY THERE ARE SOME THAT SE...

Updated in MorphineMy neurologist prescribed Oxycontin 20mg 3xday. I can only get brand. I have been taking it for months and doesn't help. I am afraid of fillers put in to it. I am looking for substitute ER. My insurance covers MS Contin ER. Does anyone think this is a better way to go? Please reply as I will ask my doctor on 19th? Sue ## If anyone has info on substitute for Oxicontin ER 20mg 3 x day please suggest. This med does not work and I am afraid of fillers. They r dangerous. Would MS contain ER be better? I am seeing my neurologist on 19th. My insurance covers this med. Any suggestions would be helpful. Sue ## It's OxyContin and it doesn't work probably because it's time released. The MS Contin sucks the OxyContin is definitely better so if your having problems with it ask your d...
My husband is disabled. has had 3 hip replacement surgeries, moved to southwest michigan last month. husband's dr that was prescribing pain medication just up'ed and quit. now he is without a dr and can't find one taking pre-existing chronic pain. he really needs a family dr. he also has other issues & health problems. if anyone knows of a dr taking new patients could you please reply. thank you ## Hello, LindyLynne! How are you? Part of the problem here may be due to looking for a doctor to treat pre-existing chronic pain. If you call a new doctor and ask them about that, they're going to think you're a drug seeker and turn you away. He needs to just find a new PCP, without asking about that, once his records are transferred there and he goes in for an appointme...
I have some tramadol pills for pain that expired last year 11/14 and I was wondering if I can use them for pain in my stomach that I have now? ## Hello, Punkin! How are you? It would actually be best to have yourself checked out and discover what is actually causing the stomach pain. While Tramadol may be a temporary relief of the pain, it won't fix an underlying issue that could be causing it, such as an ulcer or gastritis. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can Tramadol raise blood pressure or lower blood pressure? ## I have tried tramadol a few times for pain relief and I can ...
Hi, I'm so excited I get my medical marijuana card Friday and I'll be going to get my stuff. So happy because it's so hard to get pain pills anymore. I'm over, so medical marijuana here I come Friday. Wish me luck everyone. ## Good luck with that! I also got a marijuana prescription due to pains because of rheumatoid arthritis. ## I will be getting my MMJ card in ND soon, also. We only have one dispensary open in ND right now and prices are SKY HIGH! It would cost me $425 - $650/mo. just to get started! Insurance won’t help either. My opioids are costing me $115/mo. How am I suppose to try to ween down on my opioid intake, if I can’t afford medical cannabis? ND chose 2 of the largest players in the new Cannabis Industry to implement it’s “voter ap...
I need to find a pharmacy near my house in Dunedin Florida that carries ms contin 60 milligrams that I can pay for with my United Healthcare Community Plan Mplus. Is MS Contin no longer available at pharmacies in Pinellas County? How can I find a pharm availability of ms contin 60 milligrams in Pinellas County, Florida? ## Hello, Karen! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. There are a couple of problems going on that have contributed to the current shortage and I'll explain them for you… The first thing that happened is mainly exclusive to the east coast and mostly in Florida… pharmacies have a set limit of how much they can order and keep in stock each month of any controlled substance, once they run out for the month, they are not allowed to ord...
