I've been taking oxycodone 10 mg for the last five months. Today is my first day without. How long will it take to get it out of my body. ## It takes about a week for the withdrawals to go away. I have chronic pain and have been on pain meds for around 20 years. No, I am not a drug addict. I have quit taking pain meds many times for several months at a time. The time I did that I was literally bed ridden which didn't go over well with my family. They begged me to go back to the doctor and get back on my pain meds. At this point I have been with my doctor for 4-5 years now only because my PCP would not increase my pain meds and I so desperately needed it to be increased. So I am at the point again where I need my meds increased and my pain doctor has only increased me one time around two years ago. Now I feel as if I am not on any medication at all. My daughter has been going to a pain management physician for a few years and approximately 2 and a half months ago she an out of her oxycodone and a friend gave her two hydrocodones. Today (2 1/2) months later her urine screen showed positive for hydrocodone and they are sending it to the lab for confirmation. They did say that they have had several false positives with the urine cups lately. They use highly sensitive testing. Is there anyway possible for it to show up in her system that long after she took it? ## What is a modified urine drug screen? What does it show? ## As a nurse who treats pain patients, my gut instinct says this doesn't make sense. I take 2 oxycodone 10 mg every four hours, every day of my life for chronic pain. My urine test came back negative. Dr accused me of running out, I did not. Ever. Why did this happen? ## This happened to me twice. I finally did my own research and found the answer, including multiple government websites. Oxycodone does not break down to codeine when your body metabolizes the drug. The test used most often by doctors and hospitals DO NOT test for Oxycodone. They have to specifically ask for that test. They were going to stop giving me my scripts. I had one nurse call me and accuse me of selling my pills. After I schooled the doctor, he called me personally and apologized. Hey All, I was placed on the 50MG Fentanyl Patch in 2005. First told by my doctor's to change it every 3 days Then a week later I was told by a different doctor but, at the same clinic to change my patch every 48 hours. The first 2 years on the patch I did change it every 48 hours. I also was able to workout every day with it on and that helped my illness so very much to stay in shape! If I had missed one day of not changing my patch? I've heard red and white capsules no imprint are 30 mg roxicodones? ## Honestly, it would largely depend on the country of origin of the pill. Reason being is that U.S. law requires all prescription drugs to have some sort of marking or imprint on the tablet to identify the substance and dosage. Without that, it could literally be anything from a dietary supplement, OTC med, illicit drug, or even something foreign. I found a hot pink oval shaped pill in my daughters room with a black N printed on one side and nothing on the other, anytime i try searching for it all that comes up are the N 30 morphine pills but this looks nothing like that, theres no score so you can not break it in half, theres no 30 (or any number) printed on it and like it said the N is printed ONTO it with black ink not imprinted in it, please help! btw i am in canada so that might be why i havent had any luck

My wife has been in pain management for 12 + years. She is on 20 mg x 3 a day. What is the protocol for filling long term prescriptions we are having a problem getting hers filled the way they are written. For the last year he has written her a prescription for six months (six different prescriptions dated monthly) since she is one of his most stable patients. This saves us on office visits and she is subject to random drug panels. how much is a lethal overdose? ## There is no pat answer to this, it varies depending on whether or not the person taking it already has a tolerance to opiates.
