In your experience, which one works best for pain management? Taking side effects into consideration, I find that kratom wins by a long shot over narcotic pain meds. During my experiment with kratom, I've only ever experienced temporary nausea less than a handful of times in higher doses... On the other hand pharmaceuticals have side effect lists that are longer than many children's stories (not to mention being potentially severe / life threatening to top it off). Having experience with both kratom and vicodin, my personal assessment is that (depending on the strain) kratom has noticeably stronger analgesic effects - but I wonder if anyone else feels the same way? If so, which pharmaceutical medication do you think kratom's pain relieving efficacy is comparable to? Do you t...

I am on my first day of amox tr k clv 875-125 mg for a ten day course to treat a cold. The runny nose and coughing is making it hard to sleep and get the needed rest. Can I take Advil Cold and Sinus medication while taking Amox Tr K CLV 875-125 mg? Thanks. ## Hello, Jay! How are you feeling? Sorry that you're sick. However, this is an antibiotic and will do nothing to treat a cold. Antibiotics are only effective against bacteria and a cold is caused by a virus. And actually, taking it when it is not appropriate and needed could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Did your doctor prescribe it? And no, the antibiotic shouldn't be taken with the Ibuprofen in the Advil Cold & Sinus, because they can both increase the available levels of the other in your body, wh...

What is the cost for 20 Hydrocodone 5mg tabs (Tussigon)? ## Hi Gayle, I believe the price is going to vary somewhat depending on your location and which pharmacy you get it filled at. However a lot of the information I'm seeing on Tussigon leads me to believe that it will probably cost anywhere from $15 to $35 for a quantity of thirty 5mg/1.5mg tabs; depending on whether or not you utilize a prescription drug discount card like the one MedsChat offers here: Rx Savings Card. I hope this helps! Does anyone else here have feedback on the cost from a recently filled prescription? ## Yes. I just paid $55.75 for 21 tablets of hydrocodone (Tussigon) 5 mg. At the vets office. Can I get cheaper anywhere else? ## If you have a Rite Aide in your area - ask if they'll special order it for y...

I would like to talk to anyone who has a pain pump with Dilaudid. My mother has a pain pump and I am worried she will be on it for the rest of her life. She has had the pump for many years and I feel it has affected her greatly. She had to have all her teeth pulled because they were rotting and she also has a problem with her tongue burning and red all the time. I am worried she will never get off the pain pump because she is addicted... she also falls asleep all the time even while you are talking to her. Thanks for any advice. Teresa. ## Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, this is a narcotic analgesic. There is a different between addiction and dependence. Dependence, which is more than likely what is happening to your mother, occurs when you are just using somethin...

I want the pump taken out and to be put back on oral meds... Can they fill me with saline and wean me down orally? I don't want the pump filled again. I'm scared of leaks. Something has been going on and I want it out. They say they have to fill it again and wean me off. ## You have to be weaned off slowly from the pump which takes several months to do. If you are having pain you should remain on it then have the medication adjusted accordingly. Fear of having complications is not a valid concern for removing your pain pump. With the recent television reports of opioid abuse your doctor will NOT follow your request to be put on oral pain meds.. You may be seen as an abuser looking for oral pain medication ## My mom has had a morphine pain pump for over 3yrs. Just a couple weeks ...

I've been on opiates for years, and I just want to offer encouragement to people who may be going through withdrawals. If it's urgent I'm here. If you have withdrawals and need help and support and money issues, I've been there myself, and can understand how it is. Sometimes it's hard to find the help you need when you need it most. ## I am just trying to move from tx to pa and made appt with a pain mngt to continue my regular quality of life regimine. Not due getting high or addicted but im getting no help even with letters of recomdation from primary and pain doc. My meds are up in eight days now and no one will refill. Who is the best pain management doctor in the Beaumont area? We just moved from Austin, and after calling around, can't find a good one. For starters, they all tell you right off the bat they don't prescribe Oxycodone. What? Why reject a drug before you even know a patient's history or what kind of results they've had with it. Why does every pain doc in Beaumont have this asinine attitude, and what alternatives do they offer? (I am already on Fentanyl patches, with a spinal stimulator, and that does not control the pain). I'd prefer someone who takes Blue Cross Blue Shield. ## The reason you're getting that attitude is because when someone calls asking for a specific medication, doctors have been taught to view that as drug seeking behavior and they'll tell y...

I want to know what tramadol looks pike ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? I'm sorry, but since this is a generic medication, there are far too many of them on the market, in varying dosages, for me to be able to list all the descriptions and markings for you. Are there any markings on the pill in question? This information would enable me to check its identification for you. The FDA classifies Tramadol as an opioid, it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## It is oval shape white an has looks like quite an 101 on it

How long would the average person expect to get by taking 20mg Oxycodone 2x a day, before the body builds up a resistance and the MG has to be raised? I know lots of people are taking 60mg at a time doses of Oxycodone and I REALLY hope for that not to happen to me! So, how long can I expect to get by on 20mg 2x a day? I can not sleep taking Oxycodone, so I can't take 10mg 4 times a day. I tried and stayed up all night 2 nights in a row. I'm almost 70. I have been taking Oxycodone for over 15 years, but, 15 years ago, I just took 10mg on days that work left me in agonizing pain for a few days after. I have had arthritis in my spine since 1991. That was when it was first seen, as I got a cat scan, Xray, or MEI - I don't recall and the doctor showed me it on the monitor. I was ...

ive been in pain mgmnt for 15yrs. taken of percs(longterm use causing liver failure) put on roxys. have been on 30's for several yrs now. They work without making me high or woozy. LVPI has stopped prescribing eff jan 1. Are there any dr's not afraid of DEA? Morphine..dilaudid etc make me loopy. with bleeding ulcers..percs etc are out of the question..HELP ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are still worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). I'm sure there's still a good percentage out there who will drift from the pack and prescribe whate...

I am in east tn and have been going to the same doc for over two yrs. recently the PA quick and have gone through 3 new ones in two months. I asked to be taken off my morphine 30 mg 3x a day to try something else since i have been on it for a long time. The new PA put me on oxycontin 40 mg twice a day and took away one of my percs from 4 to 3. Well to start with they put me on the 20 mg dose which was not even equivelent to what i was on and i had to go back and i found that the oxycontin was not helping me anymore that the morphine so i asked to be put back on it and i told her the xtra perc i get in the middle of the night helps me and when she cut me back i was having a hard time. So she put me back on 4 percs a day but with the embeda. I went to take it to be filled and they had to ...

Looking for the kind of pill round e7 on it. ## What you needing to know? I have been taking this for 2 months now starting at 20 and now at 30 and I've been waking up (sometimes after only 4 or 5 hours sleep) with severe pain in my fingers, hands and sometimes my arms!? I don't see an exact pattern it seems to be more random. Has anyone else noticed similar effects when taking this medication? Maybe it was more so in the beginning, I should have written it down it was very frightening and painful ??. ## Since my last post I have experienced an alarming event with my fingers turning white and painful and it turns out it's something called Raynaud's syndrome. You kind of Google it, it is exactly what happened to me twice now since my last post. The vessels close and basically stop circulation to the fingers at last at 30 mins the first time n 1...

it is a white pill with IP 109 on one side and line down the middle on the other side? ## ip 109 is acetaminophen/hydrocodone 325 mg/5 mg ## That is correct, this tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 5mgs of Hydrocodone, a generic for Vicodin, a narcotic pain reliever. My back pain is through the roof, I fell off a ladder and cannot get a script. If a dr has proof that you are in enough pain, they should prescribe you something for it. But that doesn't mean it will be what you want. You can go to a free or sliding scale clinic or a teaching hospital or public hospital if yuo don't have insurance. You will be charged according to your income. Is it alright to combine breakthrough medication (ie; one 10/325 percocet, one 8mg dilaudid), while wearing a 25 mcg fentanyl sq patch? ## Have they all been prescribed for you? Generally, only one breakthrough medication is prescribed with a long-acting medication, such as the Fentanly patch. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as constipation, dry mouth, dizziness, and headache. Taking too much could result in overdose, which carries the risk of being fatal, so you should only take the medications, and doses that your doctor has instructed you to take. i need to know about this pill ## I'm assuming you're referring to Dilaudid, since the name is commonly misunderstood. It is a potent narcotic pain reliever that contains Hydromorphone.
