Pain Meds That Dont Cause Nausea
UpdatedMy daughter had extensive surgery on her knee and Dr. has prescribed various pain meds but they cause nausea and she throws them up. Is there any new ones that might work that we can ask Dr. for, she's in a lot of pain.

Hi, Peggy! How is she feeling?
Virtually all strong pain medications can cause nausea, just due to how they affect the body.
It would really make more sense for the doctor to prescribe her something to prevent the nausea. There are several good, strong prescription options available that are used for such a purpose. For instance, cancer patients often get severe nausea and vomiting from their treatments and can suffer severe weight loss, so a good preventative medication is needed.
