Pain Management Doctors In Arkansas Who Have Own Office That Takes Medicaid (Page 5)
UpdatedI have taken methadone for about 9 yrs. and other pain medicines before that. I have chronic pain post polio syndrome, Degenerative arthritis, Degenerative disc. in back due to severe Scoliosis. New laws passed , so my Doctor stopped doing pain management, not sure why. The pain management clinics are expensive and they do not take medicaid. I need a Doctor for pain management that can prescribe pain medication, but who takes medicaid patients. The Disable and poor are out of luck now. Need Doctor from south Arkansas
Who is it I would like to know who this doctor is I would be willing to pay it then
Try Texarkana Arkansas I heard of a pain management doctors there
What doctor are you going to because I need to go to a doctor that will take money to get medicine I don't care if I have to pay
I need to find a Doctor to help with pain around the Russelville AR area. I've got degenerative disc disease stemming from +2" leg difference. All discs are collapsed or buldging, and somehow x-rays show and extra vertebrae in lower back. Suspected broken and healed in some way like this. Hips are shot and I have an incredible amount of pain in all bones and extreme in hips and spine. Osteoporosis, rheumatism, and osteoporosis diagnoses lead to diagnoses of Lupus. A congenital birth defect lead to many surguries leading to these issues throughout entire life... it's horrific. I'm hopeful yet that something and someone can help.
Arkansas spine an pain take medicate an its 1 on kansis road tk it also
Arkansas spine and pain.. they take Medicaid and have offices in Conway and LR but I'm not happy with them they give me 10mg of methadone a day and 30mg ir morphine which isn't near what I'm used to, it's just not enough I'm 33 and deg.disc a plate in my cervical and 3 slipped discs in my low back. On top of that I have Rheumatoid arthritis that's not under control not to mention my scyatica in both legs and right arm but they may do you better they treat me like I'm on a max dose
May I ask what it is that you are taking? I too have had neuropathy in my legs and feet. One doctor in Fort Smith prescribed Methadone to me (only 20 mgs a day) for 18 years. She never acted like it was a problem, in fact she asked me several times if I wanted to up the dosage and I said no because I did not want to be addicted. I also take 3600 mgs of Gabapentin a day and Effexor. I still feel the pain. It's enough that it affects my daily life. Unless you have chronic pain, people have no idea the suffering you deal with, they just treat you like a drug addict. I was diligent at taking my prescription exactly as it said on the bottle. I don't mean to brag but I was the perfect patient. Thanks to all the drug addicts that abused the privilege of having a medication that would allow chronic pain sufferers to have relief and to have a normal life. We are now left dealing with pain every day and every night. There has to be a doctor out there in our area that can help us. I'm talking about a good doctor... Not one that slips you pills under the table or meets you at the backdoor and sells the narcotics to chronic pain suffers. Our rights to live a normal life have been taken away from us.
Searching for medicaid DR to write rx of methadone. Cant afford clinics anymore.
Sarah, private doctors cannot write Methadone for drug maintenance. If you need it for pain and have been going to a Methadone Clinic, a doctor will not prescribe it for you for pain because you have a history of being treated for drug addiction.
Re: tired of pain (# 20)
BEFORE you even consider getting a pain pump....go to FDA.GOV and search "pain pump" then "recalls". Your Dr. is going to tell you "there are always risks for every treatment"....If he does...RUN. I had four pumps over a 20 year period. The first two were fine....the last two almost KILLED me!!! I can't mention the manufacturer but there is really only one. Starts with an M. If you go to the FDA website you will find they have been RECALLED thirty-three times....Class 1 recalls...the highest there is. Your Dr. will receive "royalties" for every patient he talks into getting a pump. Believe me...he does NOT have your best interest in mind. BTW....he is well AWARE of all these recalls. Post an update if you would like more info from me. I've been in your shoes...but I promise you a pump is NOT the answer!! Unless you want to play Russian Roulette with your life.
Re: Xpatient (# 72)
I AGREE!! I'm a patient there right now and having the EXACT same problem!!! I've been in pain mgmt. 20 years and NEVER failed one either until the last 6 months and I SUPPOSEDLY failed two tests!! I call BS!! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone either. Also, to the posters saying there are PM Drs. in Arkansas that take Medicaid they are WRONG!! I went through Baptist Health and UAMS provider list of supposed PM that would take Medicaid. Called EVERY one of them. The only place that would take it is Arkansas Pain where I'm at. They have a very large sign in the waiting room stating they no longer accept Medicaid.
Re: Linda (# 77)
I'm sorry to tell you but YES it is a law in Arkansas. In February of this year, the DEA put in place a certain morphine equivalent dosage level that NO DOCTOR, Pain Management or not, can exceed or he/she is immediately investigated. Believe me, you will NOT find a Dr. to go over it...or an attorney that will touch it with a ten-foot pole. I was a paralegal for 15 years....so I know what I'm talking about.
Re: Sissy (# 92)
Please post a link to the State Of Arkansas Law stating a doctor cannot prescribe over a certain amount mg of Morphine or Morphine Equivalent daily for chronic pain. I have not been able to find the Law. But, I have found recommendations. Recommendations and Laws are not the same thing.
Re: robin (# 8)
There is a doctor in Clarksville Arkansas Dr. Bromley and you should be able to get in an appointment with him hope this helps
Re: Verwon (# 1)
There is a pain management clinic in Clarksville Arkansas or Clarkdale. The doctors name is Dr. Bromley and I believe you will find help and relief there at that clinic if you can get there
Re: tired of pain (# 20)
I have had four pain pumps over a twenty year period. The first two were fine. However...the last two pumps almost KILLED me. Before you even CONSIDER getting one, I would highly recommend you go to fda.gov and search "Pain pump recall"! I can't name the manufacturer except that it is the largest one and starts with an "M". Their pumps have been subject to thirty-three Class 1 recalls (the most severe class). Fourteen people died from them. I believe the number is much higher than that because medical providers are NOT required to report serious defects with the pumps....reporting is VOLUNTARY!! Your Dr. will tell you there are risks to every procedure....but what he WON'T tell you is he gets a "bonus" for every patient he gets to take one. Also, the manufacturer WILL NOT notify YOU of any defects...the FDA only requires the manufacturer to notify YOUR DOCTOR of any defects....which is ridiculous! Car manufacturers are required to notify consumers of auto recalls...but medical device manufacturers aren't required to notify you of a defective device implanted in your BODY? Also, if your pump malfunctions and overdoses you (which mine did), and possibly KILLS you, no one can sue medical device manufacturers. If you don't believe me, Google "medical device manufacturers AND Preemption" or "Reigel vs. Medtronic AND Supreme Court Decision on Preemption" I was one of the first patients (at Duke University) to have a pump implanted in 2007. If you go to the FDA site, you will see all the recalls. NONE of my Doctors EVER told me ANYTHING about a recall on my pump, or EVER directed me to the FDA. Please....please..do your homework and get all the info you can before you consider getting one. The only info I got from my doctor before I got one implanted were "rosy, glowing patient reviews" in an advertising brochure obviously compiled and printed by the pump manufacturer. It ALMOST cost me my LIFE!
Re: Rebecca (# 13)
Hi Rebecca. Your post was from 2014 it's now 11/2017. Where is your dr located that takes 200$ for meds coz I be willing to do that coz in paying cash now but he won't in tease my meds.thanks
Re: Rebecca (# 13)
Rebecca.....you are right...that IS ILLEGAL!! That Doctor should be reported to Medicare/Medicaid and/or the DEA immediately. Everyone talks about US chronic pain patients as the ONLY source or cause of the illegal opioid epidemic....but they NEVER seem to mention money-grubbing DOCTORS like this as contributors to the problem!! How RIDICULOUS. I am SURE this doctor contributes much MORE to the problem than any pain patient alive. How many pills go out this DOCTORS back door on a daily basis? This Doctor is EXACTLY WHY the DEA is all over EVERY pain management doctor in Arkansas....and the very reason so many qualified, sympathetic pain doctors are switching specialties and no longer treating pain patients. This is why everyone is having such an impossible problem of finding a pain doctor who will take new patients.
Re: BL (# 93)
BL... I stand corrected. The "morphine equivalent" issue (which I was informed about by my pain management Dr.) is NOT a LAW but a DEA REGULATION. Might as well be the same thing. My Dr. stated that if any doctor goes over this morphine equivalent ceiling, it immediately triggers a full-blown investigation of the doctor by the DEA. During this investigation, the Doctor's prescribing privileges are suspended. I'm NOT looking to argue over this issue.... I'm just trying to pass on information relevant and important to chronic pain patients. Best regards. P.S. if you STILL don't believe me....ask your pain Doctor yourself. Pain Doctors are NOT happy about this new REGULATION either...and will probably be happy to discuss this issue with you.
Re: Sissy (# 99)
What your doctor told you is not correct. The CDC Guidelines state the following:
"This guideline provides recommendations for the prescribing of opioid pain medication by primary care clinicians for chronic pain..."
"Clinical decision making should be based on a relationship between the clinician and patient, and an understanding of the patient’s clinical situation, functioning, and life context. The recommendations in the guideline are voluntary, rather than prescriptive standards."
"Clinicians should consider the circumstances and unique needs of each patient when providing care."
"This guideline is intended for primary care clinicians (e.g., family physicians and internists) who are treating patients with chronic pain."
