Pain Doctors In Portland Oregon
UpdatedI'm on here looking for a solid doctor from people that have had a good experience, as my PCP keeps telling me to go see a pain management doctor. I'm looking for a doctor that still prescribes 30mg oxycodone with no problems. I have 5 years of medical records and continued proof of taking oxycodone but can only get 15mg which isn't enough to make my pain go away. Please help me asap! Thanks

Hello, Rob! How are you?
I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Technically, any doctor with their license to practice medicine could prescribe it, but there's no way to be certain they will, even if they are a pain management specialist.
The only thing you can do is set up an appointment with one, make sure they get a full copy of your recent medical records, then discuss your treatment options at the appointment.
The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there a chance your current doctor could refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
Who do you see that can prescribe the 15's? I'm having trouble finding someone who will even write me for 10's!
You need to find a pain management center. That's nearly the only way to get pain meds anymore. Google 'pain management clinics' for your town and area. I'm sure you will find several. A spine institute also prescribes for pain.
I have pyloric spasm and was treated successfully for 9 years. Then my doctor left and now I am bedridden. Can anyone help me??
I went to Dr Fiks of Advanced Pain Management a few weeks ago. This doctor was recommended as a good doctor who knew a lot about pain. I was sent a huge package of forms to fill out during which I indicated that I had been hurt in a medical procedure and was diagnosed with pyloric spasm and ibs. This was indicated on several areas on the forms. There was nothing unclear as to what I believed had been a medical condition. I was called to set a time for an appointment which we did. I went to the appointment and was told that I needed to take 3 tests. One an EKG, one a U/A, and one balance test. I had informed the medical assistant that I was on donnatal and that it could affect the balance test and U/A. This was explained in the paperwork and also in the call to set the appointment. I took all 3 tests and Dr. Fiks walked in and in the space of 5 to 10 minutes indicated that I had no specific diagnosis and that he could not treat someone with no diagnosis. He knew my diagnosis before we made the appointment and long before he took the 3 expensive tests that were taken before he saw me that day. So what was the reason for the waste of Medicare funds for an appointment and 3 tests if he knew that he had no plans on treating me. I suggest that this visit was to line his pockets. I can find no other reason why things happened except that this doctor was all about making money. Be aware that if you connect with Dr. Fiks you may be in for a similar experience and especially if you have no insurance you can be "taken for a financial ride". And it won't be a joy ride for you. If doctors know your records and do not want to treat you -- this should be explained in a phone call not forcing you to spend money knowing full well that you are not going to be accepted as a patient. That format of Dr. Fiks is common and is wrong in so many ways. No one should have to spend money and not get anymore out of it than humiliation. I have turned this man into Medicare for fraud. And I think any doctor who does this should be under investigation by Medicare.
