Hello, Teresa! Happy birthday and I'm very sorry about your mother-in-laws condition.

The best thing to do is to speak to her doctor about she can take for the cough. It would be remiss of anyone else to make any suggestions or recommendations, without knowing her medical history or what medications she is on for the cancer and any other medical conditions she may have.

I do understand your concern and that you want the best for her, I lost my dad to lung cancer last year, but if you gave her something that isn't safe for her to take, you could end up shortening her life even more.

What medications is she currently on?
