What other drugs contain oxymorphone. And what is a normal dosage amount for someone in severe pain from 8 hip surgeries and 2 back surgeries? She's 58 years old with hbp that's controlled with medication. No other health problems. ## Hello, Nana! How are you? Opana is the available name brand for it, though it is also available as a generic, there is also a time released formulation. As to the dosage, there is no hard and fast rule for that, it depends on the person, the severity of their pain and how opiate tolerant they are, so it's best that she take whatever dosage her doctor has prescribed to see how well it works for her. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, ...

I live in akron, oh and im looking for a pain management doctor who will help me, I have seven herniated disc and I get three perc, tens a day I feel, like im dying ## Hi jlynn1126, I'm sorry to hear the kind of pain you are coping with. I have listed below a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other site a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they prescrib...

Doctors who are willing to prescribe pain medication in Cleveland Ohio ## Hello, Anna! How are you? Unfortunately, with the stricter regulations that were put in place last year, most doctors are going to be very reluctant to prescribe controlled substances on a long-term ongoing basis for an uninsured patient. The reason being that it makes it much easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. If you did get a doctor to prescribe, most pharmacies won't fill them for cash paying patients, anymore, due to the pharmacy hopping reason. It's far harder to control and keep track of the prescriptions of someone that's paying cash, as opposed to someone with insurance. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, they might be able to refer you to someone that can help. Can an...

I take oxymorphone 10mg ER and after 8 hours or so I feel them wearing off. Can I take them every 8 hours, or do I have to wait the full 12 hours? I know the prescription says every 12 hours, but I didn't know if it was possible to take another one after 8 hours or if that was risk of overdosing. ## Yes, that could create the risk of overdose. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Have you consulted your physician? They may be able to prescribe something else to help.

I've been looking for my oxymorphone 20 milligram activist and just found out from the pharmacist that there was no way they will be able to fill my prescription with the activist brand in the 20 milligram ER's the pharmacist said that there was a problem with the makeup and the amount of medicine in each tablet and was not allowed to feel any more prescriptions with the actavis brand only Global what is the problem does anybody know ## Wow that sucks because those were 10x's stronger than the ones from Global pharmaceutical that's probably why they pulled them. I go to pick up my RX Monday n was gonna try n get them. They gave me Global last month and they sucked. But the 2 months prior to that I got the A'S n boy what a difference someone f***ed it up by running th...

I need a new doctor that will prescribe pain meds for chronic pain. I have been on them for 5-6years now. I can travel a distance. I have paperwork documenting all of this, but can not find a doctor will to give them. HELP> ## Unfortunately, no one can know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not solely on someone else's previous appointment. Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach is to discuss up front and honestly what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. Most doctors will take it under consideration and hear you o...

i am alergic to morphine and my doctor just put me on oxymorphone. he said i would be ok. does anyone know anything about this whether i will be ok with oxymorphone. i haven't taken any yet don't pick them till tomorrow. thanks. ## Hello, Rosco! How are you? It is an opiate, but not the same as Morphine. However, when someone is allergic to one medication, there is always a risk that they will discover more that they're allergic to, but the only thing you can do is try it and see. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, oxy"morphone" is CALLED that BECAUSE it is OXYCODONE, hense the "OXY...

I am sorry about the problem you're experiencing. Which other ones have you tried? There is a variety available, including Oxycodone, Morphine, Dilaudid, and Tramadol, so you can ask your doctor about trying other options. What is the difference in between the oxymorphone with the half moon and the oxymorphone with g67or g76 on them ## Hello, Herman! How are you? I understand that this can be confusing, especially if your pharmacy doesn't inform you, so I'll gladly clear this up for you. There is no difference, other than they have been manufactured by different companies. Since this is a generic medication, which one your pharmacy has in stock can vary, depending on which company was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. It's how they help keep prices down for uninsured customers. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Are the moons er or ir ## The "moons" are the Actavis brand of the 15mg Oxymorphone ER and the G## are the Global brand o...

I have a script for 90 oxymorphone 15 moon's,does anyone know where I can fill them? Help! ## Yes but they cost a fortune. It is called Greenbrier Pharmacy and I paid over $600 for only 60 of them there. The high price is probably the reason they always have them. I have also found them at Walgreens and they are much cheaper (only $140) but walgreens is funny about controlled substance scripts nowadays. ## where in nashville can i get my oxymorphone 15 er filled? i have looked everywhere and cant find any.Help! ## Does anyone know if Bradleys drugstore on Charlotte Ave., Nashville tn Carry moons ## does anyone no if u can get 10mg oxymorphone moons? all I've ever found is the g72 orange ones ## I pay $177 for 90 oxymorphone er 15mg @ walgreens, they carry the moons, Iwas paying ...

Are the oxymorphone half moons still being dispensed? My pharmacy changed back and forth twice from moons to g's and now just g's for a while. The problem is the cost increased by hundreds of dollars. I live in Biloxi. My pharmacy told me that this is the only brand being sold right now. Is this true? If so I may need to see about switching pain meds. My insurance does not cover oxymorphone at all. ## Hello, Kaysha! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Many medications have gone up, a lot, in price, though I can't give a valid reason as to why this happened, other than possibly supply and demand. my mother was prescribed 120 mg of oxymorphone twice a day. any side effects I should be looking for. ## Hello, Teen! How are you? Are you sure that's the correct name of the medication? Oxymorphone is a narcotic analgesic, but it's not available in that high of a dosage. The maximum amount available is 10mg tablets, so she'd have to be taking 12 of them, twice a day. Learn more Oxymorphone details here. This is my first time taking Oxymorphone. After being on Oxycodone since mid 2000's, my pain dr. finally talked me into trying them. So far I can only find the Tevo and Endo brand and after reading what a lot of people have said about them, I'm confused on which brand to get. I have one more pharmacy to check out, have to go see them as they won't tell me over the phone, which I find strange since I use their other pharmacy (they're closer to my dr.). This time I saw my pain dr. early so I have my 'script and get them filled on 7/8/16. Since I have a few days, I've researched Oxymorphone and the manufactors (sp) and am now more confused on who I should try. Tevo? Endo? It's for the 5 mg. IR Oral Tablet. I'd appreciate any help from those of you that use t...
