Oxymorphone Er Generic By Global Pharmacy (Page 8) (Top voted first)

Hi,

Since I heard that Impax finally got the green light to distribute Oxymorphone ER (Opana ER) generic through Global Pharmacy. I didn't hesitate to rush to my PM doc and he instantly had me switch to this new drug. He prescribed me 40 mg twice per day to treat my busted back & fibromyalgia.

I noticed the pill is round in shape with G74 on one side with nothing on the other. The color for the 40 mg ER tablet is an orangy/gold color. Ever since Endo ruined their product with the new TRF formulation. I promised myself to jump back on the bandwagon as soon as the generics were released.

Today is a great day for all who suffer chronic pain. Yay! 8-)

To timallen yea IMPAX IS is the SAME as Global and yes their were some bad batches I've gotton over a years span their was probably 3 bad ones 2 back to back (witch sucked) and the other one was 3-4 months after. But it's been a good 5 months since I have had a problem with the 30mg ER Globals.
Ana Eileen please keep us all posted on how your visit goes with your PM doctor I'm very Interested in seeing if helps you or not.
Curious80 how are things going with you all well and good I hope are you still getting the same meds or have you tryed something else? I'm going to try and get bumped up to the 40's here in the next 6 months (I've heard different things when it comes to the 20's and 40's of oxymorphone generic) those 2 are supposed to be better or stronger than the 30's for some reason has anyone else heard anything like that? And I'm also waiting 6 months for insurance reasons. And I think it will be a year plus since I've been bumped up from the 30's

I am going to be officially out of meds as of Saturday. Went to PM yesterday & she kept me on the 30's BC I was having a reaction, but she is taking me down to 20 next month as they don't care about your pain. I am trying to find another PM but as everyone knows it's difficult. She also never called the pharmacy so they can order them so I'm not in the best of moods dealing with all of this. I don't know if insurance will cover generic or not. The pharmacist said he will order as soon as he gets a call from my dr but has heard nothing. Hope your PM is kind & caring, but mine is apparently hiding something BC they only care about so called guidelines. Good luck to all and stay strong!

Hi everyone, hope all is well. I have a broad question if anyone can give some input. I just got my oxymorphone ir 10mg with imprint U86 on it & it's a brand made by aurolife LLC. I took one as I am having bitter pain & an hour later no relief. My question is if anyone has any past experience with this brand as I always get relief but none with these. Does anyone know if I can exchange them & the pharmacy for any other brand I have used in the past ir is that not allowed. It's a mom & pop pharmacy FYI. Tx u in advance for a reply.

RAWDOG I WAS IN ANOTHER FORUM ON HERE AND SOMEBODY SAID ABOUT OXYMORPHONE 10MG ER WAS 45MG BUT I WAS TOLD IT WAS 30 MG WHEN IT IS RELEASED IN THE SYSTEM IN ITS FULL. BUT THIS WOMAN SAID THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE BUT I WAS TOLD BY A DOCTOR THAT IS WHAT IT WAS WHEN ITS RELEASE. CAN YOU VERIFY THAT FOR ME? THANKS A LOT! HOPE ALL IS WELL! :-)

Where did you find them I can't find the 20 mg I looked everywhere I have a a riot of 60 pills I look everywhere are they still making oxeymorphone

Arby, if you are asking about 20mg Opana er it has pulled from the market and will be nearly impossible to find. I wish you the best of luck!

For the Opana ER users this is great news! But I have been on the generic form and think it is very close to the Original Opana ERs. I have been on it since it came out.(Don't know the exact date) but it's been at least 6 months. And I am very happy with it! Those who are or think they will be affected by Plane being removed, do not worry, just have your doctor write it for Oxymorphone ER. And your pharmacist may have to order it( mine takes 24 hrs.) no worries! You will get it! (At least in Fl.). So don't freak out people, just make sure your insurance covers it or have your doctor send in the paperwork for it and you will get it! Screw Endo Pharmaceutical for caving in!

This is not true, and it is kind of unfair to give legitimate pain patients, especially those who are currently taking the global brand oxymorphone already, this incorrect, false hope.

Back on the day (after opana was reformulated for anti abuse purposes) Endo fought against generic manufacturers to claim they were not safe for the public compared to their, newly patented, formula. At that time, they lost their suit due to a judge saying that the new formulation of opana led users to inj. rather than insufflate. After this, Endo had generic oxymorphone listed as a grade B generic, fundamentally different from their brand name (or what a grade A generic would be).

Moving forward, the FDA unilaterally chose to pull opana from the market. It stands to reason that a grade B generic, again fundamentally different from the brand name, would not be lumped in and removed at the same time.

HOWEVER, the generic has most definitely been banned from production. The FDA has stated they want to make legitimate patients have as easy of a transition off as possible. As a result, they are allowing shipments of medication, for current patients, to be shipped through December. New patients will not be prescribed this generic, or brand name, nor will any pharmacies receive shipments of Endo brand Opana ER, or Global brand generic Oxymorphone ER, after December of 2017.

Endo brand Opana IR as well as generic (many brands) oxymorphone IR will still be manufactured and shipped for patients in the normal 5mg or 10mg doses.

Without getting too political, this is simply another instance of the US Government taking freedom of choice, freedom to pursue happiness and quality of life, as well as forcing the 'free market' in all three cases to be hindered, eliminated and obscured. Whether you are on the left or the right, this is a sad move by an ever expanding government.

This awful move was to the absolute and profound detriment of any legitimate oxymorphone ER pain patients. The type of cowardly, back-handed move that only weak men/women of even weaker governmental organizations would even consider.

I'm not sure what the outcome of the generic oxymorphone is going to be, or how much longer we have before it gets removed. But I did get a letter in the mail from my insurance company stating that Opana ER is no longer gonna be available after September 1st . I just filled my oxymorphone 30mg ER on Sat so I won't know anything more until next month if their gonna give me any problems

The oxymorphone ER only comes on 40mg. as the strongest form. I think they have a 30, 20 and 10mg. ER as well. But just make sure that you call your insurance company and have your doctor send in any necessary paperwork to the insurance company to get it approved. I have had to do this So many times I can't count and had to pay out of pocket for it on numerous occasions and it ain't cheap! Was reimbursed by insurance. But just go to local small pharmacies and have them order it. If it takes them awhile then see your PM doctor early to give them time to stock it and then they should order it every month for you without delay. Hope this helps. Anyone living in West Palm Beach can go to My Community Pharmacy in Wellington and try there.

No, if a tablet is 10 mg or 40mg Er, that is the amount of oxymorphone in the tablet. It simply will spread that particular amount thru body in 12 hours.

YOU state that "However the generic has most definitely been banned and will not ship after the month of December" first can I ask how you know this information and where did you get it from(the info) and why would Global/Impax just sit there and not fight this tooth and nail? You would think between my PM doctor and the pharmacy someone would have said something to me like: Hey in the very near future your ER pain medication is no longer going to be made so you need to start thinking and talking with your doctor to figure out how you will proceed in the coming months and start weighing out your options:?Cause once again no-one has even hinted at or whispered anything like what your saying. So that is really my question to you Get it Right and be Aware where did you hear or get that info please and thank you

I would bring it up. Pharmacies where I live have posted notices about this very thing. I want to keep getting the one thing that has worked but everything I hear from my PM and my pharmacist is this is gone in just a couple of months.

My PM stated they wld no longer be prescribing oxymorphone er as of a month ago as they said they r following gov guidelines but do not know if it is just PM making this catered decision to cover their asse$$, however they continue to rx the oxymorphone IR which has no timed release &!is most likely easier to abuse. My pharmacy states they r not sure if they can get oxymorphone ir hav to wait until tmr. I agree they are going to leave us with little to no choices in the near future.

What state do you live in Eileen? And what state do you live in Get It RIGHT? I'm in South Florida so I guess I'll ask my insurance company and or my cool pharmist lady and see what they say.
My next question is what do I get switched to I'm thinking maybe Zohydro anyone have any experience with it I think the strongest ER mg they make is 80 I know it's only hydrocodone but... or if my doctor will write me the 60mg oxycontin I'd get those but their so expensive and my insurance won't want to cover it and morphine 60s are garbage the 100mgs are o.k. but once again having my doc write that high is a 50/50 shot so.... anyone have any ideas please let me know

My real name isn't get it right and I feel really weird that I wrote that. Makes me seem far more pretentious than I actually am.

The truth is I truly despise the FDA for this move. If they think this will improve public health they are children. Whatever though. I have taken a lot in my day, been on everything there is, with the exceptions being zohydro (I guess hysingla for that matter) and xtampza.

I think we are all in for trouble. If you are like me, and the fentanyl patch was not good, your best bet would (again in my opinion) be high mg morphine. After that, high mg oxycontin or maybe xtampza though I haven't tried it. I have personally never had zohydro but maybe since it probably depends, at least in part, on what your goal is. I hope you are all about health and quality of life, real pain relief as fleeting as that is. I have no reason to think you aren't, but in today's world its sad to have to even think about that I guess.

Anyways, my doctor is amazing, my pharmacist is a real gem and she really takes care of me. I have no reason to doubt any thing they have said. I guess I will share I went through a temp month back and forth with my pharmacist about the ban. At first she said it was both, then she said nope it's only brand name you are ok! Then she said she sent an email about generic just to make sure she could get my script as she assumed all the brand name folk would switch to generic and only after that did she find out it was banned too.

After all that is when my PM brought it up. I am lucky I have never asked for an early refill or had something go cross with the pharmacy so my support team there is honest and there for me. Anyways, it seems to me that the newest, strongest pain pill is probably xtampza if you can get it. For me, I would go for 100mg morphine if you got the 40mg oxymorphone. That is the 3x multiplier with an additional 18-20% cross tolerance reduction.

Maybe the xtampza is something special and worth a discussion. If you haven't tried fent patches they are life savers for some. I wish my skin worked right with them. Maybe hydrocodone works well for you? Not me though so I don't even pretend that's an option. Even xtampza for me is scary because they are so damn small. So those are the only things out there man. With the exception of pretty scary IR options but we are only talking ER at the moment.

Anyways. I hope it works out for you. I live in Seattle by the way.

Oh, I am so sorry, I want to cry. I was on the oxymorphone ER 40 also for several years plus 4 of the 10 IR for breakthru and all of a sudden when I went to appt to my pain management Doc and he said, "well, they are taking Opana Ers off market." I tried to explain that he wrote for Oxymorphone ER 40, which Endo says there isn't a generic, but there is. I was so aggravated he gave me 18mg Xtampza to start, and he said that it was stronger than Oxymorphones and I knew something was up, and no way could it be stronger. Obviously, he's been bribed with money, so he's taking advantage of the Endo Opana ban. So Now, Xtampza has gone in to make their millions by giving Doctors financial incentives. Plus, after calling to tell the doctors office that the 38mg Xtampza was worthless and I wanted to take my Global oxymorphones again since it worked. He had them call me back and say he won't change me anymore to anything different, like I had been the one wanting the prior change! That did it, he out and out lied by semantics, making me think that Opana was gone in every form, generic and all. My doctor had always been so understanding before. I really loved him. I am so hurt, and I know the drug epidemic is going to explode more than ever before. Not because of deterrent or not deterrent drugs. But, people are simply getting more desperate, that they will turn to more dangerous drugs than before. You hide and watch, it will be more than ever imagined!
