Oxymorphone Er Generic By Global Pharmacy (Page 11) (Top voted first)
UpdatedHi, Since I heard that Impax finally got the green light to distribute Oxymorphone ER (Opana ER) generic through Global Pharmacy. I didn't hesitate to rush to my PM doc and he instantly had me switch to this new drug. He prescribed me 40 mg twice per day to treat my busted back & fibromyalgia. I noticed the pill is round in shape with G74 on one side with nothing on the other. The color for the 40 mg ER tablet is an orangy/gold color. Ever since Endo ruined their product with the new TRF formulation. I promised myself to jump back on the bandwagon as soon as the generics were released. Today is a great day for all who suffer chronic pain. Yay! 8-) Moon
Re: RAWDOG (# 209)
My insurance company recently will not pay for my oxymorphone er even though I have been taking the same dosage since 2011. They MAY only pay for one 40 mg pill a day. I’m going to be switching insurance companies soon and was wondering if you could let me know what insurance co. you found that does cover them. Any information you could pass on would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Re: Eileen (# 203)
Yes in fla. Atleast has the opana 40 i get u can c in my post
Re: RAWDOG (# 209)
That's my plan rawdog already started. People don't understand that here in PA u cannot pay cash. Trying to get on Medicare part D is very confusing, but from what l read, one of the few that have cut back on pain meds. It's very much a struggle, l agree!
Re: Eileen (# 216)
Im a little worried about this new insurance I got. I use it for the first time next week to fill the oxymorphone I have a feeling their gonna make me jump thru a bunch of hoops. So im trying to be pro-active and get my PM to get a prior authorisation for this med along with ALL the other BS they make you do or paperwork they need or WHATEVER crazy stuff they can come up with im keeping my fingers crossed that I have zero problems with this new year new insurance and new rules they come up with out of thin air. Good luck to ALL I wish you thghe best and keep fighting and dont take no for an answer!!!
Re: Cathy (# 210)
I also pay cash for mine. I discount cards. I am continuing the hunt for help. But those cards have been a life saver. Also, I know it's a huge difference, but going to the 30mg dose is hundreds less. Good luck.
Re: Miles of Pain (# 215)
That really does suck that you have to drive that far to get your medications. I have dealt with all the doctors and insurance companies bulls*** and after 4 years I have no problem getting my medication and they just approved my medication for the next 2 years. I dont get that but that's what my letter says. I live in West Palm Beach, FL and it's getting so that any new patients will not get hardly anything. You basically have to be grandfathered in like I am. Sorry about what your going through and I think maybe you should move from wherever you are and get closer to a place that you can get your medication with no problems.
Re: RAWDOG (# 217)
Insurance companies almost always fill a drug one time that is not on their formulary, so that there is enough time to get a prior authorization without running out. Hope this helps. Also call your insurance and see what they have to say.

Yea I just got prior authorisation for 6 months instead of 3 months like last year!!! Im so happy I dont have to dfo that crap every 3 months again that sucked!!!! But I made sure they would cover it before I got the plan im with same insurance company as last year im an HMO now instead of a PPO!! Dont know the difference but I think im gonna have to pay 60 bucks for tgem thats not bad for 60 30mg ER'S
I just checked Global Pharmacy and received a "no result" for a search of oxymorphone. Are you sure you can get it from Global?
Re: benzman (# 224)
Yes im sure. I've been getting them the past 2 years. I dont know what site you went to but they very much still make them and I still get the 30mg ER's. I don't know what state you live in but here in Florida I know a couple different people getting them in 20mg and 40mg. Good luck.
Re: RAWDOG (# 225)
I'm in Phoenix AZ and gave the RX to the Walgreens I always use. I will know tomorrow if they can get it for me but I have my doubts based on a discussion with a pharmacy employee when I dropped off the RX. An independent pharmacy I used to get opana from said their supplier did not handle it. And I've been unable to find a mail order pharmacy which might help. Any ideas regarding a mail order pharmacy to fill my prescription would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Re: benzman (# 226)
Bashas pharmacies in AZ has been able to order the Opana generics for me. So as long as you are OK with the generic (works as good or better for me as brand). They have been supplying it for me for 1+ years now without a single glitch. Walgreens was my first choice but too intermittent which was why I switched. Hope this helps.
Re: benzman (# 226)
Well I would try mom and pops places first. Also try ones that are in close proximity to a Hospital. As far as mail ordering I used to do that thru CVS 6-7 yrs ago until I got a message stating they were no longer sending schedule 2 drugs thru the mail n that was that. But about 3 yrs ago a friend of mine was searching around and found 2 places that would do it. There were a lot of stipulations and weird rules in order to get them. But im sure if you do your research you should be able to find a few places. Sorry im not a big help in this specific area. And as far as the Walgreens situation goes, it sounds like a lazy pharmacist or one who hates people like us (pain management patients). Either way I wish you the best. And keep us posted on how things go. Thanx.
Re: bertman (# 227)
Thank you. If Walgreens does not supply it today I'll try Bashas.
Re: benzman (# 226)
Walgreens came through! 7.5mg ER of oxymorphone, generic opana, not covered by my insurance, two a day, 28 tablets cost $105! But that is well worth it and I can already feel the relief from the first tab. hallalujah!
Like I said before, they still gel up when exposed to moisture. Easy fix for that is evaporation process.
But I've been taking my 40 mg straight up. Since the efficacy and analgesic effect is far superior to the TRF. It's been performing absolute wonders for my pain.

EXACTLY! I wish I could get it prescribed. I took 40 and 6o mg..1 a day!!!for legitimate pain!! I'm getting 's MS Contin 60 mgs. It's almost but not quite enough
Bon,
Opana ER now has a generic available. Better known as Oxymorphone HCL ER in all strengths. It's manufactured by Impax pharmaceuticals generic brand division, Global Pharmaceuticals. The generic is the original formula (non-resistant) of Opana ER.
I've been on the generic for two months and the analgesic effect has been awesome. I take the 40-mg tablet twice a day. So getting fancy with this medication isn't necessary to treat my pain.
