Oxymorphone Er Generic By Global Pharmacy (Page 11)

Updated

Hi,

Since I heard that Impax finally got the green light to distribute Oxymorphone ER (Opana ER) generic through Global Pharmacy. I didn't hesitate to rush to my PM doc and he instantly had me switch to this new drug. He prescribed me 40 mg twice per day to treat my busted back & fibromyalgia.

I noticed the pill is round in shape with G74 on one side with nothing on the other. The color for the 40 mg ER tablet is an orangy/gold color. Ever since Endo ruined their product with the new TRF formulation. I promised myself to jump back on the bandwagon as soon as the generics were released.

Today is a great day for all who suffer chronic pain. Yay! 8-)

I got a letter from CVS telling me Starting as of Feb. 1. 2018 the amount of opioid medication your prescription benefit plan will cover is changing, your medication affected by this change, and the new limits, are listed below.

OXYMORPHONE TAB 10MG ER 60 TABLETS/25 DAYS THAT IS FOR RETAIL PHARMACY LIMIT AND FOR MAIL SERVICE LIMIT 180 TABLETS/75 DAYS.

I NOW GET 90 TABLETS FOR 30 DAYS.

Re: timalan63 (# 205) Expand Referenced Message

You do know this is only a CVS rule not Insurance or FDA. I don’t know how they can make there own rules considering they are #1 for stealing meds! I know this because it happened to me on Klonopin & I even called the cops in the store on my them a few years ago. My Insurance is also considered CVS Caremark CO. Even though the actually card doesn’t say that. I am Disabled & the only changes is they don’t cover generic. I get SSID & the other is part Medicare for what they don’t pay for. However, I am allergic to a lot of pain meds so if I wanted it covered I could. I was switched to OxyContin & so far it is ok not as strong in this cold weather it don’t help but it is covered. Just letting you know if you go to any other pharmacy the 25 day Rules does not apply. I hope this helps & if I could go back to the other Opana ER I would it worked better & lasted the 12 hours. I think they just didn’t want to give enough $ to the FDA, so they pulled it. There is no way they would pull a medication for 2 deaths by inj. ruin which is almost impossible with the real ones over all the others that are much easier & cheaper & have killed many more people than 2. They are making a mess of the people who really need it. Which is funny because they’re the ones who started this problem in the 70s when they couldn’t control the population revolting against the government so they decided to give them LSD but now there is that opiate crisis, which is really an illicit drug crisis. And many other new things that I’ve never even heard of in my life. OK I said enough, I’m just getting myself mad. I hope the people out there are actually getting the pain meds they need & the addicts stick to something else!

Re: Eileen (# 208) Expand Referenced Message

What's High Mark? And if that insurance does not cover it you need to do your research and find one that does cover the oxymorphone. It took me a half a dozen phone calls to all different insurance companies to find one that did cover those. And it cost me 80 bucks a month n the oxymorphone was 168.00 bucks. Witch is not to bad considering they cost 700.00 to fill without insurance and most places won't take you unless you do have insurance. All's I can say is keep calling around n find the best price

My insurance company recently will not pay for my oxymorphone er even though I have been taking the same dosage since 2011. They MAY only pay for one 40 mg pill a day. I’m going to be switching insurance companies soon and was wondering if you could let me know what insurance co. you found that does cover them. Any information you could pass on would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Amen! I miss opana. I have had 8 spine surgeries and I've been on 180mg a day of morphine. Well, I will call my pharmacy tomorrow and I see my PM next week. I knew it wouldn't be long, reminds me of when coke was taken off the market and they came up with a new coke! Lol. If you have them or need them, lock them up, so we don't get blamed when things get into the wrong hands. Thank you for the good news.

Re: Eileen (# 204) Expand Referenced Message

Hello everyone, I have to really wonder why all you pain sufferers get Drs to give you pain meds being your really suffering from debilitating pain as i live with 24 hrs a day. Currently I have to be driven 221 miles to a Pain Management that will give me my pain meds. I have many illnesses, and do indeed suffer every hour a day unless i am in the horizontal position and that is keeping me awake at night. I have to take a mild sleep medication for me to get well needed sleep. I wish i could just be fixed and be pain free but my body is what it is, BEAT UP from all the jobs i did as a working women. I finally had to go on disability as my company thought i was a liability. Plus had 3 specialists put me on meds for my illnesses, and went with the company agreeing I should not be working due to many illnesses. I went out a fighter. But now in my 60's and live in such pain, and the Dr's where i live are too scared to help me with my pain. Why cant they do their jobs and help me? I have awesome insurance, great referrals and not an addict, take as directed, even though the meds are barely working for me anymore. I have such a will to live and be happy, but that PAIN is really getting to be unbearable. What do i do? Those Dr's that put me on those meds didn't even think what would lie ahead. The people that just used them recreationally are making the real PAIN sufferers get the axe. It is so wrong. In every way. Doctors here are all wimps. I hope they never have what i have to live with, they would all cut their throats. Pain makes a person do really crazy things, God Help Us ALL.

That's my plan rawdog already started. People don't understand that here in PA u cannot pay cash. Trying to get on Medicare part D is very confusing, but from what l read, one of the few that have cut back on pain meds. It's very much a struggle, l agree!

Re: Eileen (# 216) Expand Referenced Message

Im a little worried about this new insurance I got. I use it for the first time next week to fill the oxymorphone I have a feeling their gonna make me jump thru a bunch of hoops. So im trying to be pro-active and get my PM to get a prior authorisation for this med along with ALL the other BS they make you do or paperwork they need or WHATEVER crazy stuff they can come up with im keeping my fingers crossed that I have zero problems with this new year new insurance and new rules they come up with out of thin air. Good luck to ALL I wish you thghe best and keep fighting and dont take no for an answer!!!

Re: Cathy (# 210) Expand Referenced Message

I also pay cash for mine. I discount cards. I am continuing the hunt for help. But those cards have been a life saver. Also, I know it's a huge difference, but going to the 30mg dose is hundreds less. Good luck.

Re: Miles of Pain (# 215) Expand Referenced Message

That really does suck that you have to drive that far to get your medications. I have dealt with all the doctors and insurance companies bulls*** and after 4 years I have no problem getting my medication and they just approved my medication for the next 2 years. I dont get that but that's what my letter says. I live in West Palm Beach, FL and it's getting so that any new patients will not get hardly anything. You basically have to be grandfathered in like I am. Sorry about what your going through and I think maybe you should move from wherever you are and get closer to a place that you can get your medication with no problems.

Re: RAWDOG (# 217) Expand Referenced Message

Insurance companies almost always fill a drug one time that is not on their formulary, so that there is enough time to get a prior authorization without running out. Hope this helps. Also call your insurance and see what they have to say.
