Oxycontin Op 20mg (Page 2)

I have been on Oxycontin for 3 years. I am not stupid, I did not ask the doc to keep increasing my meds, I would decide to stop taking them for a two week on and two week off if I could. I am in chronic pain,my life has been altered to the degree I cannot walk without assistance any distance. I do walk into a store that has carts to push. Two back surgeries, the type of back that just keeps getting worse, had I not had the surgery I think I could have controlled the pain with Vicodan and Advil. But the doc. said I had to have the surgery. then the 2nd one did me in.It is a reputable doc who has done many surgeries, my opinion he wanted the money because this is when they discovered surgery was making things worse more than better. I blame that doc for me being in the pain I am in and for having to take the medicine. Now they want to treat me like a junkie off the street. I am so angry with this subject because of the reputation it gives you. If you have no choice then what?? I should have been given other options before the 1st surgery and I was not. Now they change the OC to OP and I became extremely ill over it. To the point I could not eat or drink or sleep. My stomach hurt sooo bad and everyday I got worse and worse. I felt like I was poisioning myself. The FDA approved this?? I want the people who approved it to take it!!!!!
To Micheal James,
You have some nerve degrading people for being in so much pain that it has altered their lives. Do you really not believe that some doctors are just greddy and will operate on anyone or anything just to fatten their pockets. they make you sign a paper to say that they are not responsible for anything that may happen to you as any surgury may go wrong. How in the hell can you say what a person is going through is their fault. No one in the world wants to go through life in such pain that they can hardly walk. Do you actually believe that everyone that complains about this new formula is a idiot. You really need to lighten up and keep your nasty comments to yourself and continue to live in your perfect world, because everyone is not as lucky as you are. GOD forebid anything goes wrong for you or someone close to you. Then maybe you will unserstand.
I HAVE BEEN TAKING OXYCOTIN 80 MG, FOR 7 YEARS, BECAUSE OF SEVERE CASE OF SCOLOCSIS. I'M DUE TO HAVE BACK SURGERY YHIS OCT. 27TH 2010, WHICH IS NEXT WEEK OR SO. I NOW HAVE BROKEN OUT IN A HORRENDOUS RASH, STARTING FROM MY FEET UP THE LEGS,ETC. TODAY I WOKE UP AND IT IS ALL OVER MY WHOLE BODY! DOES ANYONE THINK THIS COULD BE FROM WHATEVER THEY PUT INTO THE OC'S- OP??? IF ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS HAPPPEN TO THEM?? I'M REALLY THINKING IT IS THE NEW OP CRAP THAT THEY RUINED OUR PAIN MEDS WITH!
Come on Dr. Sackler we are getting poisoned here, with your new Formulation of the Oxycontin I have never been so sick in my life.
If anyone is interested this is how you can obtain your old medication Go to Canada the same pills marketed with different markings on them they say 80 on one side and CDN on the other, you will have to go to Walmart in Canada on Victoria Island they have a walk in clinic right there in the super walmart.
Then bring your latest perscription bottle with you and also a letter from your physician stating what you take why you take it and how often. Get your functionality back and get your lives back Good luck
Yikes, sorry to hear about your trouble, BUT, you need to stop blaming people for your issues. The surgeon isn't to blame for your pain, pain is common when recovering, even up to 2 years later, but quit whining, you want different meds, tell your Doctor, they legally HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU.
Honestly, you always had options, they didn't force you to have surgery, but surgery is much safer than trying to treat pain with Vicodin and Advil, if you disagree you're entitled to your opinion, but you are wrong.
Ask for different meds if you want, but gripe to your Doctor about your problems. No one is to blame but you, that's the truth.
There have been many complaints that this new formulation does not work as well as the original. There have also been complaints about odd side effects.
I am very sorry to read that it has caused you problems.
