Oxycontin And Oxycodone Urine Drug Test (Page 8) (Top voted first)

When taking a urine drug test, does oxycontin and oxycodone come up as the same drug? I took a 40mg oxycontin on a monday and was drug tested on thurs. I am tested once a month from my pain mangement dr. to make sure my oxycodone's are in my system. So will the 2 drugs show up as one or is there a differance in them with the drug test?

Has nothing to do with a doctor "hating it when their treatment isn't good enough!!!" PM doctors pay insurance rates based on the total amount of Narcotic Units they prescribe per year. Each drug has a number of units. They add the units, multiply by the frequency and add them up for all patients. The stronger a drug and the more pills they = their insurance rates go up. THIS is why doctors don't want to give you anymore. And this is why most just do "interventional" PM, aka injections.

Just so you're aware, there are medications and capsaicin cream which can show up as coke and make a false positive.

I was on oxycontin 60 mg and was changed to xtampza 37 mg. I have a U/A next week at pain management and still had oxycontin left and took them. Will my U/A be able to show this or will this new med metabolize like the op's did? I don't want my Dr. to think I'm a druggie. I was just in so much pain and xtampza er suck.

My husband see a pain management dr once a month 10yrs. He has been on same meds for that long! His dr told him thiswas his last appointment his urine came back dirty. Apparenty this was the second time the dr never told him the first time it happen! One thing i didn t get was for 9yrs his tests were fine! He didn t even ak if anything changed! After the dr let him go i. Did an investgation. Here my husband DJs when he can and 2 times i had to pick him up from a job cause he couldnt drive! One thing is my husband never drinks. On. The job only soda! those two times i picked him up. He had his urine test those 2 time I think my husband was drugged both those time. Something was put in his soda! What burns me up was his dr treated him like a crack head! My husband is very careful with his meds we keep them lock up in a safe. I just would like to know what kind of drug could do that to u a. Ruffe, the date rap drug! He no longer djs thereat that club but i like to know what kind of drug would show up cocaine! He takes oxycotin and oxycodone for break thru pain!!

All oxycodone. And oxycotin come up as the same opiates and there for it will show up like that. And the doc will say . Hmmm hes drug seeking.
Find a family member. With clean urine. Have them oee in it. Microwave it for 30-45 secs. Wrap in aluimin foyle and then wrap around paper towel put I n. Sandwhich bag and put in sac area. For ladies , put near vagina keep there till tested . Works everytime.

I hate the way they treat people in pain. I waited 11 months to get into the pain program that is part of my county health plan and I was fully honest with what I was taking on my first appointment and hoping that I would finally get out of the pain I was in and when it came to prescirbe my meds the young man that exaimined me and told me I may have even more wrong then the severe facet hypertrophy, degenerative disc disease in all disk. He said I may also have an issue with my hips as well. Right now I am on Norco 325's, Soma and neurontin. I was prescribed 12 Norco's a day by 2 different doctors but I was up front with the one that added the extra four. the one that gave me 8 could only do that for 1 year as I was no longer a patient with that insurance so i had that filled at 1 pharmacy who only charged charged $23.00 for the rx. I had also been prescribed Opana ER 40 mg 8 a day but that I had to stop that one because it would have costed more then $2000.00 a month. anyway I also got all my other meds filled with the county pharmacy for free and then about a month after my original rx for the norco had stopped due to being a year without the insurance, I had a tooth break in my mouth and I went to my dentist who understands my money situation and after he examined and learned that I had infection and pain he sent an rx to the pharmacy he likes to use. the pain meds he sent was norco 5/325 which is half as strong and didn't even give me enough for a day compared to what I take and he prescribed an antibiotic which I needed. so I picked up that rx. anyway because I had used 3 pharmacies over the last year, the lady in charge of the pain clinic came in and told me she will not prescribe me ANY Narcotics at all. I had been on some form of narcotics for my legitimate pain for 9 years and I only had a few left so I went to a methadone clinic 2 days later to detox. they would not detox me but sent a referral back to the pain management clinic asking them to reconsider treating me. I am still waiting for the answer. In the mean time I am IN PAIN. this system sucks. People like Nichole Smith and Michael Jackson ODing has caused people to break out of the humanity roll of prescribing pain meds again.

if i crush up my prescription oxycotin and put it in my urine sample for a drug test, will the oxy show up in my urine when my docter tests it,

Only take the medication you are prescribed and only medicate as directed. The two drugs have different opiate base so they synthesize differently in the kidneys. It all depends on the type of drug test used and the NG cut off. The opiate base in oxycotin and oxycodone are so similar it is common to have a false positive for either drug. Hydrocodone is also common to bring up a false positive for oxycotin, but not oxycodone hydrochloride. The only true way to determine which drug is which is by lab testing

I m on pain mgmt and get 90 oxycodone 5 mg hcl. I jave spinal stenosis crisjed carpel tunnels( both hands ) and a torn rotator cuff. The torn rotator cuff and carpel tunmals result from police brutality. The rotator cuff injury jas become more apparent in the past five weeks and i have had to take more of my meds to relieve the pain. I go to my pain mgmt Dron Jan 27. I took a u.a. last visit and think my levels will be down as not only do they do a five panel they send it to a lab (why) and suggestions. Willy levels be down and since i have run short ( i have three left for the 26 Jan will my levels be ok?

You're reading too much junk on the internet. That's not correct, i know. I was in drug court for a long time for some crazy stuff i did when I was in college and i failed many drug test for cocaine. I used those excuses and went to a dr trying to get a note saying that and he said that's not right. More than 1 dr said that so don't say doesn't know what he's talking about. Cocaine is the only drug i know of that you can't flush out of your system too. Only thing that will make you fail a test for cocaine, is cocaine. Try it if you want and use that false positive excuse and you'll get busted. I've even taken a drug test after using the stuff they say will cause a false positive and i passed.

I never said i was a drug addict or even implied i was. If you know how to read, you will see that it was past tense and not present. I haven't touched that junk in several years so don't call me a drug addict. You're the one who probably has a problem because you're currently searching websites for it. What problems is she dealing with other than her coke head dj husband flunking drug test and losing his pain meds?

Dear Freeze PoP: First, there you go again with the personal insults to someone you've never met. "If you know how to read?" If I couldn't read, I'd never have read what you said! And one doesn't get through college and graduate school without being able to read. Then there's your comment stating that, "You're the one who probably has a problem with it"--a second personal insult, again directed at someone you've never met and about whom you know nothing. There are more reasons to educate one's self about cocaine besides being a user. As a therapist, it's vital to be informed about this.

Secondly, there would be no reason EVER for me to use "that false positive" excuse since I have never used cocaine or any other illegal/street drug in my life, don't intend to and I've never been subjected to drug testing. I have, however, done some extensive reading (from reputable resources, not simply anecdotal statements from FORMER users) in order to knowledgeably respond to the questions of others as to what can create false positives for cocaine. As with many things, more is constantly being learned about this subject. If you haven't used cocaine in "several years", good for you! However, it may not have been known when you were using it what situations could cause a false positive. In any case, if my experience with other medical issues is any indication, many doctors act like experts on topics of which they actually have very little knowledge. Doctor's fly by the seat of their pants, too!

Thirdly, and perhaps most unbelievable, is the fact that you minimize the pain and suffering this woman is going through. The final sentence of your 1/29/15, 6:16 pm contribution is extremely revelatory. You don't think what she has discovered about her husband would be extremely traumatic and emotionally painful? That it's no big deal? I think it would be a pretty safe assumption that she is in emotionally AGONY and suffering tremendous mental distress. She needs to be shown compassion, not belittled, as in the last two sentences of your 1/27/15 posting. Even coming from a stranger, this would be painful. Why add to someone's pain when you can just as easily, as I said before, BE KIND and encouraging! Using courtesy, rather than insults, would make her (and perhaps you) feel better!:-)

OMG. That is just unbelievable because it really is unbelievable. The Amoxicillin false positive is exactly just that, false. I've taken Amoxicillin several times before a drug test and i have never failed. The only times I have failed for cocaine is when i actually used cocaine. I tried that Amoxicillin false positive excuse before and it didn't work because the drug test lab researched it and talked to several doctors, pharmacists, chemist, and other people that have knowledge about drugs and their interactions with the body and they all said that it will not give a false positive. Plus, a doctor is not going to say "it is about 2 lines worth". A doctor is not going to measure the amount of a drug in one's system by measurements of a way an illegal drug is taken. Either you are making this up or your friend did and you are ignorant for believing him/her.

As for that woman and her situation, I don't think you know what her situation is. She was on here saying her husband was kicked out of his pain management because he failed a drug test for cocaine which she claims happened because someone put it in his drink while he was working as a DJ. Tell me how she has a bad situation here or a problem other than a problem with denial or a problem with her husband? It didn't sound like she has a drug problem and it definitely didn't sound like she believed her husband had a drug problem because she said a number of times that the reason the cocaine was in his system was because someone else put it in his drink.

As for my education and career, you really think that it's just arithmetic? That really shows your ignorance. There's a lot more to public accounting than arithmetic. Anyone that has as much education as you claim to have would know that. I highly doubt you have the degrees you claim to have. If you did, you wouldn't have said "your degree in arithmetic" and a lot of other things you said. It's not "my supposed degrees in arithmetic" that makes me smarter than you. It's because I am smarter than you. It's not hard to tell by the way you write and the things you say that it's all an act and you are trying to appear to be smarter than you really are. I took a UA at my Dr last Friday. I've had a cruddy flu and I've taken some cold/decongestant stuff to help over the last week. Late yesterday, Mon, I was asked by my Dr's office to come in for another UA. Which I planned on taking today, Tues. I had a migraine last night throughout this morning and need to have a urine test today for pain management meds oxycontin 30mg 2X a day, for breakthrough a 750mg hydrocodone 1 up to 4X daily as needed, 1 fiorocet 6X a day as needed, Zanaflex,1 Plavix, 138mcg synthroid, 200mg providgial 2X a day, Phenergan as needed as well. I'm concerned bc my migraines cause intense nausea. I vomited shortly after taking my am dose of my meds and could see my meds in my vomit. I was miserable in pain suffering like crazy and decided to only take take another 30mg oxycontin bc I thought it was out of my system. I'm afraid I have too much in my system now bc the 1st oxycontin may not have come out with my vomit.. something that didn't occur to me until now. Will this drug urine screen show higher levels of my long lasting pain med? Should I inform my physician of what occurred today, that I took an additional oxy before I take this UA? Or wait to see if get a bad response to say something? Should I wait a day before I go to the Dr so my levels are more accurate? Can a UA even show the levels of my meds? I also suffer from a DNA deformity that goes by MTHFR. It's caused many health issues throughout my life and I wonder if that alone can show inaccurate levels? Please help me with the truth regarding urine evals. Any recommendations as to what I should do bc my head is killing me, I'm continuing to vomit and I can't think well whIle feeling so badly.
