Oxycontin 80mg Green Tab (Page 4)

Updated

I came across some green pills that look like OC 80's but they are imprinted with APO on one side and OCD 80 on the other. Can someone please tell me what they might be?

That s right the Pharmacy Jean Coutu here in NB caused such an uproar about the APO CR to my Doctor he switched me back to the BHT OxyNoes once my private insurance ran out . Only thing is they are 80mg and at least twice they geld up in my throat and i near choked. I will be demanding to get placed back on my 40 mg tabs which are not much better still filled with BHT but i could swallow them. The APO generic lasted longer no sweating bloating itching headaches and much more. These wonder drugs are filled with BHT which my Dr informed me is only outlawed in food products within Canada funny the Government allows this a pass in Medicine which is still ingested and exposed to a persons organs.

i got an instant response from the Canada Vigilance Program and they want all the research i did confirming the BHT ingredient. Ironically i received a call right after from Purdue whom said they would forward my legitimate claim to my doctor along with the choking issue on the oxyneo. Suprisingly they seem to be quite unsuprised when i told them i reported the BHT to Health Canada. Like i told them even small amounts of BHT are toxic and get hung up in your organs .He agreed then i said its pretty cold here in Eastern Canada does that mean its ok to consume a little antifreeze to warm up ha ha he got my point. Its time for the Neos to go back on the car tires where they belong.

I can't believe how the friekin drug addicts ruined my life for so long.I had my pain somewhat controlled for a few years on oxycontin and because the bloody druggies were abusing it I had to suffer to the point of almost taking my own life. Now Apo - oxycontin is being made available my doctor perscribed a couple of pills to me and they took my pain away which I haven't felt for a year and a half. OXYNEO don't work. Now I can't get the new apo oxycontin as they are not covered by government drug plan even though they are a third of the price. THANKS to the low life drug addicts for taking away what life I had.

@discordcandy I think you sre talking about the Ratio brand patches, those are the ones I get and the brand everyone I've met prefers. I don't know about other places but a lot of pharmacies (mine included) are having patients return the used patches because people are smoking them. By the way, my best friend lives in Toronto but I've never been myself

to RDAG. where I'm located its impossible to be prescribed ANY NARCOTIc from any doctor in our small town. 3months ago i was in a rhino (aside by side) accident and am still suffering from debilitating pain from the top of my spine down to my left ankle. i was prescribed 120 20mgmorphine pills from the e.r DR. i do not have a family dr. and ALL public clinics ban narcotic prescriptions ...

if you or any other person that understands what it feels like to cry in pain when sitting up, when laying down, and after pretty much any movement at all... I'm hoping you will be willing to send me some through the mail?

@PAINTEASER- Hey there, I'm very sorry about your accident and situation but currently my dr has tapered me down to 20 mg oxyneo (oxycontin), percocet, and 100 mcg fentanyl patches. The patches are not cheap $325 for 100 mcg and that is considered very reasonable in Windsor, in Toronto they go for $4-500. I hope you find a solution to your pain problem or get some stronger medication. I totally hear you it is hard to find ANY doctor to prescribe ANY narcotic now a days, many drs here will not even accept you as a patient if you are on them, they basically pre evaluate you and it isn't fair. When my doctor lower my oxycontin I went to see a few other drs accepting patients because I was upset, but they all told me they were 'uncomfortable' with the amount of narcotics I was on and they could only refer me to a pain specialist, so I'm grateful for the doctor I have now. I'm only 24 so that doesn't help either and I don't have cancer, so most doctors feel meds like fentanyl should only be reserved for those patients. As a pre-med student, I can understand and somewhat appreciate that, HOWEVER now that they took the original oxycontin off the market and replaced with Oxyneo-it is not the same. Fentanyl is 100 times stronger than morphine but it's the next best thing for those that were doing well on Oxyxontin, but naturally it has gotten the same bad reputation because a lot of people are now addicted to, abusing, and overdosing from Fentanyl due to it's strength. It's a very frustrating situation. Although the Apo oxycontin and others are out there, they are not like the original-at least not to myself and many others who did well on Oxycontin. I'm also in Canada and our moronic government is cracking down and trying to dictate to doctors how to, to whom, for what and what not, to prescribe opiates-which is just WRONG. Government should have no business interfering between what goes on with doctor and patient, and a patient's right to medication or a doctor's right to prescribe it how THEY see fit. That's why there is a huge shortage of GPs in Canada, no one wants to go through medical school then have the government have the audacity to tell them how to practice medicine (I also plan to practice in the US when I finish school). Anyways, sorry for the rant.

I have a question though, does anyone else who was previously on Oxycontin now find that there is nothing equal to compare out there, even the generic? Not including Fentanyl of course because it is actually better then Oxycontin but also more susceptible to abuse because of it. I'm curious if it is just me but I feel as though I', not only physically dependent but I get a euphoria out of it that goes beyond controlling pain and I have an addictive personality, so it's becoming a problem. But I don't want to tell my doctor because what did the job before is no longer on the market.

What a great thread; keep it coming folks.

First off, I want to say that the people who have never lived/worked with long-term-pain, will never understand what is being said here, and that the desperation being described here, and in relation to, has to do with the relief of that pain (in the short term) and NOT with getting "HIGH".
Getting HIGH, as described by those who do NOT live/work with long-term-pain is what is causing the confusion and marginalization in the system. Marginalizing those who DO live/work with long-term-pain. The short term relief of their condition and its associated euphoria is NOT "getting high". In fact, it is only the condition of reaching a state of normality. Even if for only a very short interval.

It's 2015 folks (doctors/system), and "Pain Management" is the buzz phrase that will get you started down the right track. (stoners be damned)
Is it addictive? Am I addicted? Yes, I am!
I'm addicted to the pain relief that I get and being/working/living, in a state of normality. Is this addiction? I think it IS, but it should be regarded as the kind of addiction that is recognised, by doctors and the system, as not only being acceptable, but encouraged, as a way to manage life injuries in order to return these people to activity AND as being productive members of our society.

I am one of these people (the latter) that has an MRI confirming the need for such.
So, why do I also get the run-around? Politics; it's all about the politics of the "drugs"; However, WE, should be shielded from this BS by our physicians.
THAT IS THEIR JOB. To determine that we are legitimate (for the system, on our behalf) and then, to give me the G-Damn script.

Rant switch OFF,
Some good info here, and I'd like to continue,
I hold down a 12hr a day job and a 6-fig salary.
I've run the gambit of hypnotics, nortriptyline for example,
TRY IT, and similar (it may work for you) I got GREAT pain relief with it, however, even after giving it a chance (2-months) it still messed with my brain, mood-swings, hot-flashes (NEVER drink alcohol with any hypnotic-EVER) happiness is dependent on dosage. Not for me, but as with everyone living with long-term-pain; you have to try it for yourself, and then say yay or nay.
OXY, no sides, and not high.

I work all day/night, 12-18hr shifts. I push through, every day. Clean, nothing.
I get home, OXY, I get a "break" from the pain, the suffering, I can sleep. Then I get up and FIGHT, all day.

No OXY, no break, from the pain and suffering. Nothing else works for me. Like a toothache that has no ending; EVER. Day after day, after day. It will drive you mad.
I told my doc, the day you stop the oxy, is the day you sign my long-tern dis-papers.

If that's true about a walk in pain clinic helping a new resident with appropriate meds until they find you a dr., thats the best s*** since sliced bread as long as they assess your needs from your paper trail properly. Anyone else see the post I'm replying too realize how helpful that be just arrived from outa provience or town
