Oxycodone Shortage Jacksonville Fl
UpdatedI'm hoping this link works, it not please go to DEA/Florida/2012 in your search. The reason we are having such a hard time with getting scripts filled is that once again, one of the Walgreen's Dist Centers is back under investigation for overselling and 6 of the major Walgreens Pharms are also. I spoke to my pharmacist the other day and most of the Walgreen's in Jax FL are backing off of the orders for awhile due to this new investigation by DEA, drivers are being stalked and harassed, Pharmacy personal are also being threatened. It is a very sad situation for the people who really need this medication. And it is not only the oxy's, it is all pain med's. They are just not being supplied properly period.

I totally agree I have wasting so much time and gas trying to get my meds so since Ive been a walgreens customer for over 20 years and cant pay between $6 and $10.00 a pill because I dont sale my medication I take it as prescribed. Even the Walgreens Ive been going to for years that knows regular customers like me that are truly in pain and need my medication to live somewhat a normal life and take care of my kids that would hold or order my medication for me cant even do anything to help. But then there answer is to switch its not just the oxycodone its any pain medication. So even if you switch you still have the same problem. And some of us chronic pain sufferers theres not to much pain medication out there that doesnt have tylenol in it that can lead to liver damage and other things when you have been on pain medication for over 10 years. And these pharamacies that are price gauging will only deal with you if you want to pay basically a mortgage and car payment for the medication you need. And some people that dont even want to sale there medication are forced to sale just to get there medication so all this does is put more on the streets.
Well if anyone out there in Jax Florida is interested was told today by Walgreens Pharm that as of this week they will not be getting anymore oxycodone for the time being and do not know when they will. I would think this is going to affect most of Florida actually. The seller for the Oxy that the DEA has under investigation has lost their license and can no longer sell anything. So unless you can get lucky and find this med at another pharmacy, the people that really need it are fixing to be in a world of hurt. Just a heads up
I agree my pharmacist called me today I live in jax fl i take roxys and my pharmacist called me today and said DO NOT COME IN WE WILL FAX UR SCRIPTS TO DEA and give them back. Their narcotics license was just pulled. we went to numerous pharmacies in Jax and couldnt find them a lady said she has had hers for 1 week. Now my girl cant find her methadone. I got switched to OP and they were $690 to fill I am about to go 2 rehab eventhough I am in pain and have had surgery in my back :( I hate junkies they ruin it for everyone!!!
It's nice to know why Walgreens in Jax couldn't carry them... heard about this. Sadly, I agree with y'all. Ive been on them for over 13 yrs and i simply DONT HAVE 600 and up to pay for OP formally OC which I took initially anyhow while having insurance while working at UF for 20 years. I'm not okay with this stupid issue. I'm going to have my doc back me down again... get them and get percocets to fill the gap... or he can suggest something better. Ridiculous...
PS: Target is not filling Rx for Dr. P up there in Jax. Sick s***! Don't know what he got in trouble for but I assure you I have MRI's and many other things to back up my prescriptions! Who the hell CVS is to tell me WHAT and HOW MUCH the doctor should give me is BS... they DO have the meds... was told by my bf's friend at a pharmacy in his town what the deal is. Apparently, they pick and choose who they want to take or suspense meds to. I'm living in an area where they have two pharmacies that have them. Walgreens and CVS. Starke... forget it if you don't have a local license cuz you WONT get the oxycodone... it's for us. Even locals are having issues. I'm going to switch to a nearby Dr. in keystone heights. They've got plenty of ma and pa shops there that will fill for you. Gotta be local though and I am.
I did confirm that they have them and tell you they don't however. Not sure what the advantage of that is!
Im pretty sure these were all in Miami and Jupiter area though. I read it on the DEA website. one of the articles is here justice.gov/dea/divisions/mia/2012/mia091412.shtml
They can't seem to keep them in stock at my Walgreens pharmacy in New York either ivebeen on since 1996 and now I have to suffer and wait or pay $20 to $25 for one its ridiculous I shouldn't have to when I'm legally prescribed them and other things which I am also having difficulty with
