Oxycodone Prescription Filled Early If I Don't Use My Insurance? (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have insurance that covers my oxycodone prescription once every 30 days. However, can I fill a prescription early if I don't use my insurance?

Oh yes, expensive for sure! Hydrocodone in the form of Vicodin, for 120 pills at 7.5mg/300mg, is $245.00 at Walgreens without using insurance. So strange! Throws one on Obamacare into the dreaded GAP! Good old USA medication rules, Eliminate Obamacare.
I dont know about your pricing.. I ha e paid cash multiple times at walgreens for 120 of the 10/325 hydrocodone and it always cost the same .. $90 .. Obamacare is cheaper according to the pharmacist at the local walgreens he said.. he tried to get me to sign up ...said I would save on all my meds being self employed. .
No due to the database you can fill 2 days early only.
No. The earliest is 28 days after last fill. Its illegal and if your Dr finds out you may lose your script. Also you could be convicted of a felony. Its a class 2 narcotic and the DEA is very strict on this.
Once every 28 days as it's a class 2 narcotic. It's illegal and the DEA is very strict on this. You could be convicted of a felony. The computers are linked all through the country.
it really does fall on the pharmacist to do it early .we can only share our experiences.
I go to a pain center and I take Oxycodone 10 mg X 4 a day. If they write to refills it once every 30 days, my Pharmacy will not even fill it on the day I run out, even though my insurance will cover it on the last day. I have to wait until the day I am out and hope and pray the Pharmacy can get it filled before noon and I start detoxing. It's the fill only 30 days that forces the Pharmacist to do this. In Tennessee they keep a database at every pharmacy for controlled substances. I can only use one pharmacy, anyways. I honestly doubt you will find any Pharmacy willing to refill it sooner. If you can get your Doctor to rewrite and take off that "refill every 30 days" would be the only way a Pharmacist "might" be willing to fill it a day early.
very tough....so strict even if u pay cash...the pharmacists think ur a junkie if u run out early!!!! so ridiculous...biggest judgers out there, and they have NO RIGHT...
I have a script of valium 10mg #30 count that lasts 10 days, I am on day 8 does anyone know if my pharmacy will reef ill 2 days early?
Bulls***! I filled a 240 count percocet 10 script with cash before. It was almost $400.
All Schedule II drugs cannot be filled without a NEW Prescription. 30 day supply limit, and if more than 48 hours early...you are out of luck. The DEA is cracking down due to the Opiate Epidemic which is allegedly due to the drug companies.
There are NO REFILLS on Schedule II drugs. A new prescription must be gotten for each month. DEA is very astute at watching this.
I would suggest, skip one dose, and save it. Then you will have a buffer zone. OR ask your doctor to take off the "refill" instructions.
They r supposed to fill it the day before u run out if ur taken them right I always get my meds day before I run out talk to the pharmacy they will fill them
No you can't as soon as they pull your name up it will show them when you last filled them. And they won't let you pay cash they will have the full price of the medication but they won't fill them they will fill them 2-3 days early at Walgreens but any pharmacy will not fill them. Good luck
Re: Jim (# 4)
They can fill it 85% early
The pharmacists check the Prescription Monitoring Program in your state before filling these rxs. It will depend on how early it is and also on the pharmacist. The only thing your insurance company decides is if it is too early they won't pay for it. The insurance company has nothing to do with you being able to fill it early.
its all up to the pharmacist, you can say you are leaving town and make it sound far, so they wont say just have them call us, actually they cant anymore cuz of stick drug laws just say your leaving town for a few weeks, oxtcontin 20mg alone is $300,00 did you know that? but Oxycodone 10 mg are not expensive.
