Oxycodone In Patch Form?

Pain relief needed. Do they make a oxycodone patch, or something similar besides fentanyl? I used fentanyl for about 5 years. They made the patch sites itch and left welts and even though I was given meds to help when I stopped using them I was still pretty sick for a couple weeks.

Unfortunately, no. However, there is a time released oral formulation of Oxycodone that lasts for 12 hours, it is available under the brand name Oxycodone, there are also other time released medications available, such as the Butrans patch, and Zohydro.

The FDA warns that they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Your doctor should be able to help you figure out which would be safest for you to try.
