You received it in the U.S. as a Prescription for Oxycontin?

No, there are no unmarked prescription drug tablets on the market in the U.S. I don't know what they gave you, but it's not Oxycontin!

First of all, under U.S. Federal law, all prescription medications MUST have a unique imprint on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency. For instance if someone is found passed out somewhere, with some loose pills in their hand, for proper treatment to be given, the doctors and nurses HAVE to have a way to discover what it was that they took. The imprint has to lead back to who manufactured it, what the active ingredient is and the exact dosage!

And second, there is only ONE U.S. manufacturer of Oxycontin, therefore, all their tablets have similar markings. There are no generics for it. They are all made by Purdue Pharma.

The 10mg tablets would either have OC on one side and 10 on the other, if they are the original Oxycontin formulation, or if they are from the new formulation, they will have an OP on one side and 10 on the other.

The ONLY time you will receive something unmarked from your pharmacy that is in solid form would be when your doctor has specially ordered a specific medication in a dosage or combination that isn't available in a pre-manufactured form and you have to have them specially made by a compounding pharmacy. These are capsules and will not have markings that designate what's in them, though the capsule may still have the logo on it of either the pharmacy or the company that made the empty capsules!

Even the other formulations of Oxycodone, such as Roxicodone (regular release) and OxyIR (instant release) and their generic equivalents ALL have markings on the tablets or capsules.

I am not sure what they gave you, but I definitely think it's time to contact that pharmacy and ask some serious questions!
