Oxycodone Prescription

My question is this, I was having a very difficult time filling my legitimate 30mg oxycodone qty(120) prescription, I had an old prescription from my old pm dr. that was for 10mg oxycodone qty (98). I showed it to the pharmacist he told me it was no problem to fill, and that the only issue would be that insurance would not cover both. After looking everywhere I decided to go ahead and fill the 10"s and pay cash. A week later the 30's were finally in stock so I was actually told over the phone, got to pharmacy and low and behold they only had 5 left, there were 2 other medications to fill on the same prescription, Norco's and Soma's, they said they could fill those and I would have to wait on the oxy's. I believe they do have they oxy's and are lying to me, I honestly feel I have gotten the runaround by so many. Does anyone know if they can fill my 30's since I already had the 10's filled?

I'm sorry you're having such problems, this has been going on for awhile now and it's really gotten ridiculous.

They may have legitimately been out, by the time you got to the pharmacy. There is actually a limit on how much of any controlled substance each pharmacy can order and have in stock each month and these limits are now being strictly enforced…and it just so happens that the biggest complaints have been about pharmacies running out of the 30mg tablets.

When it's a dosage chance, you can usually get the higher one filled, though there may be some questions regarding how the old the other one was and if it was written by a different doctor.

What is your general location?

If you can post back with that information, someone may know of a pharmacy that's easier to work with that they can recommend.

It's not just you! Pharmacies, especially CVS will play doctor and tell you that they are not in stock when they choose not to fill it! I had a few oral surgeries over a 6 month period and each time was given 20 10mg Oxycodone and it would take several pharmacies before I would get tgem to fill it! Oney dad filled his from his pain Managment doctor yet told me they haven't had it in stock for months due to back order! Pharmacists (I notice particularly the Indian ones) will play doctor and refuse to fill something they don't agree with!

Verwon is right. I've had the same thing happen with my pharmacy. Said they had it, then were out when I got there. The pharmacist told me about how they were only allotted a certain amount.
