Oxycodone Doctor
UpdatedI was diagnosed 5 years ago with DDS and at first by back pain was minimal. After a year or so it began to get bad enough for me to see the Dr. every 3 months or so for a prescription of Oxycodone and 800mg Ibuprofen. I have since moved and my Dr I have now told me flat out he would not give me "narcotics". Why do Dr's treat us this way. I have medical records showing my valid medical issue. If anyone can recommend a pain friendly Dr who will not make me feel embarrassed to ask for help, please email me. I live in Avondale AZ

Have you considered a pain management specialist?
That would probably be your best bet to get the help you need, since many general practitioners aren't specially trained in treating pain and are reluctant to prescribe for it.
One place you can check into in the Avondale area is Wright Pain Management, here's their contact information:

My wife suffers from fibromyalgia as well as terrible joint pain. Some days she cannot get out of bed. She ses a pain doctor who will only prescribe 5mg of oxycodone. She needs at least 10 mg as she is supposed to take 2 tabs per day and she needs 4 so she runs out with a week or two to go and is in terrible pain. Are there any doctors who would prescribe 10 mg for her? We live in north Central ohio. She needs help......bbiuc
I would try a new pain management doctor. I don't live in your area but I have the same symptoms and diagnosis. I have never had any issues getting the care and meds I needed. She doesn't see a kaiser doctor does she?
That message was for mike by the way sorry
This is a few months later for a reply, but it is horrible that your wife's Doctor doesn't meet her needs for pain. Who the hell does he think he is? You need to file a complaint, then get a new Doctor. They are their to bring her proper relief, not some relief and some suffering. That has to be taking an emotional toll as well. She should NOT have to feel that way. Find a Doctor that is worth the money he is making. Period. Best wishes to you. She has a right to be pain free.
I'm having the same issue with the VA. I. Was on hydrocodone for my back. And today the new dr is refusing to sign off on the refill. And it's the only thing that has worked.
