Oxycodone Addiction

I dont know where to turn! I have been on oxycodone for over 4 yrs. now and alot of recent losses have happened to me. My 23 yr. old son passed away this past July and I am completely devastated. The cause of death was adverse drug reaction. He was on prescriptions and xanax, oxycodone were the main scripts he was on for a few years.A few days before he passed away he tryed methadone and it was still in his system when he got and took his xanax prescription so he died. 2 months after this my mom's lung and bone cancer declined, she dehydrated and declined. I had to move in with her and have hospice come, but I was the one who took care of her and she died in my arms a cou[ple of weeks ago. During this time my husband packed up his things and left me. This crushed me and really broke my heart. I had to host 2 funerals and the last funeral for my mom was out of state so I traveled with my uncle who was with me during the time of my mom's death. It was so sad the way she died. My husband of 18 yrs. moved into his mother's house far away from me to Georgia and turned his sisters and entire family against me telling them horrible stories about me and they all believed him and would not answer their telephones to me. Finaly I filed for a divorce and he was served. Still no call, then I had the first funeral for my mom here in our home town and it was a larger crowd and still no phone call from my husband, I woukld hear things through the grape vione my sister and his sister were best friends so my sister started telling me things like this was planned him leaving me and awful stories that his sister would say to my sister. I never felt so sick. My mind was almost slipping away and I nearly had a real break down. In the mean time I was abusing my pain medicine a little. I was discharged from my pain dr. about 8 months ago and to make a long story short I found a new dr. but I had to cut back on medicine to 4 per day instead of 6. Impossible, I ended up getting 30 pills from my xhusband for free for a few months and then I ended up buying them on the street to make up for what I was use to 180 30 mg. of oxycodone. A girlfriend of mine use to sniff these pills and I remember asking her what that did to her and ect. One day when she was doing that I asked her if I could try it and did. Well I got use to that and every month when I would go and get my script I noticed I was running out of meds sooner. Now I am in a real mess, I dont see my dr. for over 2 weeks and have no meds left and buy them. I am running out of money and I am depressed and sick of this, the oxycodone, the runniong out, the expense and my pain is the real problem that I do have. Not only is my back a serious mess, but I have added neck and hand problems that are severe that happened in the past 6 months. Another severe problem with my neck and it affects my hands and I am in 10 pain, my hands, fingers are knum and burn and tingle and throb. I also have carple tunnle. But most of the problems in my hands are due to my neck that has a degenerated and a herniated disk, 4 spurs and arthritis. I dont know where to turn or how to get off these pills. And how do I get off this medicine, what about my severe pain? What should I do? Any suggestions will really help me riht now. My first son was murdered 11 yrs. ago at 22. So I lost my only two children, my mom and I am in grief. My husband did come back. He wants what is best for me and is willing to stand by me, has anyone ever took methodone for pain? Should I try to go to a methodone clinic? or tell my Dr. and see if she would put me on methodone? Please some one help me... Coastdriven

I am so sorry for your losses and the trauma you are going through. I have experienced almost identical problems as you although I am not addicted to pain relieving drugs. I always take my meds as prescribed. 2 drugs have helped me some . That is an anti-depressant and klonepin. I also take 2 or 4 500 hydrocodone for pain. I hate pills. ask your DR. there is something that starts with an s...suboxin or something like that to get you off the narcotics. talk to your Dr asap. again I am so sorry. I know firsthand what all the trauma and drama does to us. Good luck and God Bless!

I am very sorry about everything you've been going through.

And yes, as was already stated, you are going to need medical assistance for this problem. Trying to beat this type of addiction, with the mental stress you are under, as well as keeping your pain under control is really not something you can handle on your own.
