Hi Connie,
With regards to dosage, it's not really the oxycodone that I question, but rather the acetaminophen; depending on how many you intend on taking.
The general dosing guidelines state that a recommended dose of acetaminophen is: 325 to 650 mg every 4 to 6 hours or 1000 mg every 6 to 8 hours. I suppose if you could manage your pain under those guidelines, then in my opinion you should be fine taking "5mg/650mg" every 4 to 6 hours to remain within safe limits.
However, if you're used to taking 30-50mg of oxycodone, I doubt this combination would be nearly as potent. Are you just not able to get your scripts filled for those higher dosages anymore?
