Percocet is the brand name for a combination medication that contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. It is also available under the brand name Roxicet.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Roxicodone is the brand name for the regular release formulation of Oxycodone.

The time released formulation brand name is Oxycontin and the instant release is OxyIR.

Thats the SAME,DRUG. Percocet is the name brand of oxycodone.

Technically, neither.

However, for some people that Acetaminophen in Percocet can augment the action of the Oxycodone, so it may be more effective and could be the same as them taking 12 or 13mgs of the Oxycodone. But, it doesn't work that way for everyone.
