Is it just me and the pain I'm in or does anyone else feel like the Xtampza just isn't cutting it ! I started on 9mg every 12 hours two months ago. I at one point even filled out a DEA report and returned the medication to my doctor's office ( after spending a lot of money on it) To only have to go without it because my insurance insists it's same as others and wouldn't let me fill another type. Anyway, was put back on it, in this type of pain, I'll try try try. Now I'm getting it twice a day 13.5 mg ( equivalent to a 15mg) ...It gives me a headache and spaces me out and I can honestly say does not last 12 hours as it claims to. You can literally ( physically) feel it wear off within 8 hours and is crappy ! It is not , does not control my pain... Maybe it...
5 REPLIES UpdatedI've tried every sleeping med both OTC and prescription. I'm so exhausted I'm wondering why I quit taking the oxycontin/oxycodone. I know that sounds bad but I'm so tired of feeling like this. I feel suicidal sometimes and depressed most of the time. I know it's just exhaustion and I keep reading that it gets better but honestly I don't know how much more I can take... ## Hello, Robin! How are you? If it's been a month, you should turn the corner soon and start to see an improvement. I'm saying this from experience, too. I was on pain management for years and quit cold turkey. It all really does get better shortly after the one month mark. Have you considered trying an antidepressant for a few weeks to help? They are not habit forming and may really help ...
5 REPLIES UpdatedMy pain doctor prescribed OxyContin (Oxycodone ER) 30mg for pelvic pain. However, I can't seem to find them in the Atlanta, GA surrounding area. Can someone tell me why? ## I live in the U.K. and my Dr prescribed 120 mg (5 times a day), with 40 mg for breakthrough pain. I can only assume I must be the only person on this amount as I'm having a similar issue. ## dkc, how have you been checking for it with the pharmacies? Because, if you are just calling, or even going in and asking them, without showing them your actual prescription, then you aren't likely to be getting an honest answer. To try to help prevent theft, and diversion, since this is a very commonly abused medication, they will usually just tell a random person asking that they do not carry it, or it is out of sto...
2 REPLIES UpdatedMy dr in Mont., AL has been prescribing me 3 80mg oxycontin for several years. My visit last week he refilled my script and said it could be the last because he was told there was diversion possibly coming from his practice. Btw that was 3 a day. If he doesn't refill my script on my next visit, I need to find a Dr. quick. Is it legal not to wean a patient off? The pain clinics in this town are full. ## If he cannot continue to prescribe, he should be able to refer to another doctor or clinic that will accept his current patients. Has he suggested anyone? And yes, it is perfectly legal for a doctor to stop prescribing your medications, even if they are habit forming, at any time. They are not obligated to treat you or prescribe anything, unless you are in life threatening danger. As ...
42 REPLIES UpdatedGiven OxyContin Extended Release 40mg per 12 hours in place of Methadone 10mg four times daily. Always given for pain by MD, 20 years now. Initial dose 20 yrs ago was 200 mg daily, got myself down to 120 mg daily, then down to 40mg (all of these in four doses, that took 3 years). I've been on OxyContin ER for one month along with Vicodin for breakthrough and Tramadol. Nothing really works. Can't sleep, eat or care for myself. The reason I'm off Methadone is because insurance said I would need to pay for it and I can't. Back with my parents and they are lost in this situation. On OxyContin I get relief for about 4 hours (after it takes close to an hour to start relief). They are the worst. I just want Methadone back but it has ruined and ruled my life. No marriage, no chi...
1 REPLY UpdatedI was wondering if it is going to be ok for me to mix oxy with my antibiotics for Strepp throat. It is a 125mg of Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium combined. I'm small, if it makes a difference. If anyone has any real medical info on this I would really appriciate it. And this is kind of a ASAP situation because I dont want my throat to get infected. Thank you. ## Have both if these medications been prescribed for you? Were the prescribing doctors aware of your medical history, and that you'd be taking both of them, at the same time? These medications are often prescribed together to treat pain, and treat/prevent an infection, but you should only do so if your doctor feels that it is safe for you try, and will be monitoring you regularly. Ref: Oxycodone and Amoxicillin with ...
1 REPLY UpdatedI am wondering if anyone knows where I can fill script for 60 mg oxycontin. I have Medicare and am about to scream because I can't find a pharmacy but you can get them on the street! So, someone is filling these scripts somewhere. Thank you ## From what I've recently heard, there are new rumors going around that Oxycodone in all its forms are gradually being taken off the market by the FDA. This would explain why very few people are having success finding a pharmacy to fill it; especially in Florida. I haven't found any announcements that verify this claim, but I think the vast number of people unable to fill their scripts speaks for itself. Have you talked to your doctor about this situation? I'm not sure he or she would continue prescribing something if it can't ev...
6 REPLIES UpdatedI just picked up my monthly Rx for OxyContin 80mg and they were the new generic Watson OC/OP here in the USA. They look identical to Purdue pharma pills as far as color and markings..I haven't tried them yet but I sure hope they work like the old version OC. I will let you all know if I can tell a difference. Lets hope they are somewhat as strong as the old OC formula. Im all for the protection of the pill but as far as the strength in my opinion seem like they were cut in half.. ## This is the second day on the New Generic Oxycontin Made By Watson and I must say that they are just like the old OC formula as far as the strength goes. They seem to last around 8-10 hours. They are GREAT for my pain compared to the Purdue Pharma OC/OP. Much stronger and so happy to finally have the rel...
2 REPLIES UpdatedIs there a rep. for the ppl. who were controlled on 3 OxyContin OC a day, who now suffer and have proved the new OPs DON'T WORK? NO MATTER WHAT PURDUE OR FDA SAY? We need a rep. for us chronic pain patients, who were controlled and NOW SUFFER & CAN'T DO MORE THAN LAY IN BED CRYING. ## Unfortnately, other than reporting your complaints to the FDA, there isn't much else you can do. I'm sorry you are having such a frustrating experience with it. Have you tried to talk to your doctor about using any alternative medications, such as Fentanyl, or the time released Morphine? ## I've been on fentanyl for 15 yrs until they changed patch, it didn't help that's why my dr.put me on OxyContin and that lasted 5 mo. Till they changed to OP, then they stopped working. So ...
68 REPLIES Updatedmy med had oc on it for oxicontin but now it has op. What does that stand for ## I am not certain exactly what it stands for, however, it has replaced the original Oxycontin with the OC marking. Oxycontin OP cannot be crush, chewed or broken down. If someone tries, it basically turns into a gummy goo, that is supposed to only dissolve in stomach acid and retain its time released properties. Side effects remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Has anyone out there heard of a brand new formulation called Oxycontin RF I got a letter from Purdue( I have been bugging them forever- so they have my address in records.) The letter was addressed to a person of the same last name as me, but different first name, and it got sent ...
15 REPLIES Updatedoxy 15, they are really tiny, m15 same side ## THEY ARE OXYCONTIN 15 MG TABLETS DEFIANTLY, THEY ARE MADE BY MALLINCKRODT ## They are the 15mg tablets of oxycontin ## They are tiny and there is a m and a 15 on the same side and they're white. That's what i get from my doctor, oxy 15 mg ## yeah there oxys ## Hi everyone - I actually don't think these are oxy's. It seems like you're mistaking the pill being described here, because there are Oxycodone 15mgs which also have M 15 as the imprint ... HOWEVER ... the pills are a very very light green (almost white), the M is by itself in a box on one side, and the 15 is above a score mark on the other. Based on the original descriptions from the original poster "Small Round White Pill M15" and "tiny m15 same side...

Even after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 3years ago& being prescribed oxycontin for almost 2 years my dr has moved his practice& no other doctors are willing to help me the same way my last doc was now with him not around& me off the meds I was on for so long my pain from MS has progressed I do have all mri's& documents that state I do have MS. Can I be helped?? ## Sorry I meant to say I was subscribed oxycodone and am looking for a new doctor to subscribe the same 30mg roxicodone I was on since my dr has moved away from new York,si because my ms has been progressing and those meds are the only pain meds I can take I will travel to the city or any of the 5 burrows to find another doctor willing to su...
169 REPLIES UpdatedI was told it was Oxycontin SR 100mg, but it difffers in features from other Canadian pharmacy oxycontin. One side has 100 imprinted. However, instead of the CDN imprint, there are symbols or a logo on the other side. Looks a bit like a smiley face, but that depends on how you rotate the pill. Please see images below: ## The symbol on the back side of the pill appears to be a P, standing for the manufacturer Pharmascience. Here is an image from their site: If you visit their online product catalog at and then click on the letter T to view those medications, it is listed as Topiramate 100 mg. So it is not an Oxycodone. This is an anticonvulsant drug used to treat epilepsy in children and adults. It is sometimes used as an antidepressant. For more information about this drug please see:...
11 REPLIES UpdatedI have a legitamite pain issue stemming from when I tore my ACL MCL Meniscus before my growth plates set in causing my left leg to be shorter...Then My lower back got messed up over time with this problem causing me to have 3 epidural shots in my tailbone(none worked even a week)...And Then I got in a car accident about 5 years ago which I then had more epidurals, injections, and a RFA(Radiofrequency ablation) which just caused me to have fibromyalgia now as well. All that being said, I was wondering if there is a GOOD Doctor in Illinois? (I live near Woodfield in Schaumburg but willing to travel) I want one who will see my 3 huge folders of medical records, understand, give me something to help manage my pain and also work with me to find a Permanent Long term solution so I am Not on m...
1 REPLY UpdatedI cut a 30 mg Oxycontin in half and have already taken it. I didn't know the pill was time release until after taking it and I also took a whole one this morning. Should I go to the Emergency room? ## Unless you started experiencing dangerous overdose symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, vomiting, severe dizziness, severe drowsiness and shallow breathing, there would most likely be no need for the ER. However, it is always best to double check with your doctor to be sure. ## Hi, did you end up being ok?
2 REPLIES UpdatedI found a couple of pills in my sons room and he's not admitting to what they are and I'm determined to find out. They are yellowish and say NORCO 539 on the same side, the other is blank. Thanks. ## This tablet contains Hydrocodone 10 mg + Acetaminophen 325 mg (NDC 52544-0539 / 52544-161). Inactive Ingredients: - Croscarmellose Sodium - Crospovidone - Magnesium Stearate - Cellulose, Microcrystalline - Povidones - Starch, Corn - Stearic Acid - D&c Yellow No. 10 - Aluminum Oxide ## hello- your son has a pain pill called norco, which is like lortab, although it only has 325milligrams of tylonol and 10 mill of codiene. ## I had a prescription sent to me from caremark. It is atenolol 50mg. It doesn't look like the pill iv'e been taking. It is white and blank on one side...
13 REPLIES UpdatedI'm trying to identify a small pale blue bi-convex pill with N|N on one side and 5 on the other side. My friend said that they are oxycontin but I believe it actually is oxybutynin. Anybody know for sure? It's from Canada and most likely a generic brand. ## Yes, there is an Oxybutynin from Canada that matches this description, it is a 5mg tablet, and is most commonly used to treat overactive bladder. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, and urinary retention. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Round small blue pill with 5 on one side and n|n on the other side . Was told it was an oxy cotin , might even be a repressed pill ## It’s oxybutynin. It’s NOT a narcotic and is usually prescribed for overactive...
3 REPLIES UpdatedJust want to find a doctor in KY that will write something preferably the oxycodone 30 for pain and 15's for breakthru, plus I've been taking xanax for around 5 years to try and help with the pain and anxiety which they do to a certain point. But I say the oxycodone because I went to a pain clinic in GA 3 months ago and they wrote them for me and I thought I was in heaven as far as the pain was concerned but due to the pain I can't make those trips.!!! Someone PLEASE HELP!!!! ## I have been having anxiety attacks and the thing that helped was xanax ## @Micheal, I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as locating pain management doctors within your general area. All you have to do is input y...
31 REPLIES UpdatedI heard that all the pharmacy replaced all the original oxycontin (OC) with this new formula that prevents anyone from crushing it. The new pills says OP on the one side instead of it saying OC. And if you still can get the original oxycontin (OC) do you now need to request it from your doctor so he can write you a prescription for the original oxycontin (the pill that says OC on one side instead of it saying OP ## The original Oxycontin has been discontinued and will no longer be available. Once pharmacies are out of their current stock, there will not longer be a supply of it out there. The new Oxycontin OP has been specially designed to prevent abuse, by retaining its time released properties, even if crushed or chewed. Otherwise, for pain, it works the same and still has the same si...
82 REPLIES UpdatedWanted to break ambien in half but accidentally did it to my oxycodone 30mg instead. Is it dangerous to take half of a standard dosage? ## It may release too much of the medication, at once, since OxyContin is a time released formulation. What I'd suggest in this case is just not taking that pill. How did you accidentally cut the wrong one? ## Is there a non-nacotic prescription medication that I can take in place of Oxycontin for severe/chronic low back pain. I have just taken myself off Oxycontin because I felt it was doing more harm than good. I was taking 30mg twice a day. I have not taken any Oxycontin since last Thursday 8/16/12 and I'm a great deal of paid, in withdrawals including insomnia, vomiting, anxiety, confusion and general overall mallaise. Please please please h...
