Oxy Alternatives?

Updated

My name is Mo I have been taking Oxycodonen 30Mgs for over 2 years now. I am finding it harder and harder almost imposible to get my scrips filled.
Apparently there is a manufacturing problem. What do I do? This isn't something I can quit cold turkey your advice and input is appreciated it is a scary time for me. I had to withdraw a couple of times when I had trouples getting the scrips filled and I was so sick I couldn't even function on day to day tasks.

Thank you for your feedback.

Well, name calling is not appropriate, so I have removed that post, thanks!

Have you tried speaking to your doctor about the problem? They may be able to suggest an alternative med, changing the formulation or dosage.

Yes we are going to work together on my options, this was my first time blogging on something this sensitive I did not expect to see such negativity from an individual if you dont belong on this site or cannot relate to what people in true pain are going through then maybe you are the one who needs the life. I wont log back on to see any more negative replies. make it a great day! forget the haters!

Verwon & Mo...please accept my apologies. My brother is addicted and has 3 kids and is ruining their lives through these pills, so it upsets me very much and I take my rage out on these stories. I'm very sorry. I just want my brother and these other people to quit using these harmful drugs. God Bless and please accept my apologies.

Monique, again...I am sorry for getting emotional and I meant no harm. I have taken oxycodone 30's (blue pill with M) for my neck pain, from playing in the NHL for 3 years, so I know the hold it can have on you. The fear of the withdrawals is usually what keeps people from quitting. Hopefully, you can find a way to wean off...which is the best way, I believe.

so, pretty much..people are/were being called names, but no answers? amazing.
For those of us that cannot live without our meds, or can only live a third or less of a life..this is no joke. Or a place for crappy comments. Thank you to the moderator for removing whatever it was.

Karen you are very welcome. this site does not approve of such things, we have removed all those posts as well as blocked the trouble maker from posting, again.

As to the problem with obtaining these meds, there were companies manufacturing some that were not approved by the FDA and they have been forced to stop. This has caused a shortage in some areas, pharmacies are having trouble obtaining them.

Hello I have decided to return I accept your apologie and I too have been taking the same medication I have seen how it has destroyed relationships and homes but it helps with pain so what do you do? I want to get off the meds because it is more of a pain to maintain and financially and the fact that I have been on a very high dose for a long time. I wish all of us the best through this difficult time we each have our own hurdles to get through. I have found a great support team family and friends that I trust to tell me things I need to hear and help monitor my progress. Does anyone have feedback on weaning? I am trying it and some days I do better than others. My medication has been very hard to get so know I am taking Diluded 8 mg which has been told to me to do the same as my Oxy 30 mg. I just want to stop and live healthy.... since I have been weaning I have had a period for over a month, and bronchitis, ear aches, so much pain it is hard to get out of bed and deal with every day life I have two small kids and a wonderful husband who is always helping me out. Thank you for your support and I know we can all overcome this. Best to everyone, and thank you I feel better about using this site for helpful hints and stories of others. I dont feel alone anymore. Make it a great day.

i also have been taking the oxy 30mg for 2yrs and had i know that the pill would cause withdrawls and would make you so sick and unable to get outta bed i would have never touched the stuff but it truely was the only thing in the world that gives me any relief i have been dealing with back problems for 6yrs and then had a bad car accident and it made the back problems worse and more injuries so all together its been 12yrs so what does one do to get off the meds or wean down to a lower dosage or is there anything else to take without getting the withdrawls im a mother of three and my husband works 12hr days i dont have the means to just go thru the withdrawls how do u tell your children wait mommy is sick for the next 2weeks will the shortage ever get better for the oxys or will the pill get any cheaper i wish i had the answers so does anyone ?

Adrianne, the best advice I can give you is to talk to your doctor, they will be in the best position to assist you with this, they can help you find solutions to ease the withdrawals, wean down and etc.

Have you talked to them, yet?
