Oxicodone/roxicodone Pharmacy Delivery Delays Untill The 1st Of The Year, Per D.e.a.

Can anyone please give insite as to why the D.E.A. is not letting any shipments of OXICODONE to ANY pharmacy's untill after thier count, & after the 1st of the year (2012)? THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.

It's a regulation that applies to all controlled substances, not just Oxycodone. It is also isn't a limit that the pharmacies can order in, it's an overall manufacturing limit.

Each year the DEA sets a limit on how much of a controlled substance can be manufactured, such as Oxycodone, Xanax and Adderall. The figure is reach based on the prior years demand, as well as information from the manufacturers and the FDA. Once a figure is reached, it is then split between the various manufacturers and usually it is a good way to predict demand for the upcoming year, while helping control theft and diversion.

However, in any given year, when there have been more prescriptions written than usual and/or there have been severe cases of theft/diversion, it can cause the supply to be exhausted, before the end of the year.

Production will return to normal in January.
