Oxicodone 30ir Limit

I keep seeing there is a new limit on how many can be written each month but so far I haven't seen the limit just that their Doctors have changed their prescription. Can anyone tell me amount per month

The DEA put forth new directives to doctors to not prescribe more than the equivalent of 120mgs of Morphine a day and some states have further lowered that to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine a day.

At the 120mg limit, that would be 80mgs of Oxycodone daily, or 66.67mgs at the 100mgs a day limit.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Going further, most doctors will not write for more than 3 tablets a day.

Exceptions are granted, however, for those who suffer intractable pain from a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer.
