Oxcodone/percocet Help Me Function But Can Cope W/o

12 years ago my church had a ski and snowboard retreat. Traditionally we race together at the last run of the day. By the time i hit the bottom there was a huge pile up and i twisted my board sideways to stop at about 45mph and my torso twisted the opposite way. Since then a have not been able sit, sleep, or walk comfortably. I have no history of drug abuse but the doctors felt it was time to try alternatives such as Naproxen and really big 800mg Ibprofen. My life was much easier when a I able to responsibly manage my more "illicit" pain medication

What type of doctors are you seeing, are they general practitioners, surgeons or pain management specialists?

If they are general practitioners and/or surgeons, then they really don't have a choice by to try to transition you away from the narcotic opiates, due to the new laws that were put in place recently.

With only a few exceptions, general practitioners and surgeons will no longer be allowed to prescribe such medications for long-term pain management. They can only do so for short-term use, such as immediately after someone has had surgery, or been injured.

Anyone requiring treatment on a long-term basis for chronic pain will have to see a pain management specialist.
