Overweight All My Life Doctors Doubted Me I Doubted Me, No More

So, I suffered needlessly my entire life because of being overweight. As if that wasn't enough suffering, add the emotional and mental pain of not being believed when you tell medical people that you don't eat that much! Yes, I realized I had begun to medicate myself using food. I had given up. I got depressed because I was not believed. My entire life I had been going to the wrong type of doctor! I needed an endocrinologist. They are trained in endocrine problems that cause people not to be able to lose weight easily.

I was going to the gym, writing everything I ate down in a food log. To some degree, these disciplines helped, but they still did not get me very far in bringing the weight down. I had a 10 year plateau! It does happen. I would go up 4 pounds, down 4 pounds, up, down, over and over again. The weight would not fall off again as it used to do by the end of each year. I was so proud when I could drop 10 pounds each year, but that eventually STOPPED! And I could no longer lose weight. I could only manage to maintain my weight loss. I had to be grateful for that.

If you are having problems that defy description and almost sound like science fiction, please please find a way to go under the care of an endocrinologist who is schooled in the latest methods out there for diabetics or others who want to lose weight. You won't be sorry.

Regular MDs and DOs are not trained in endocrinology.

Hello, Sheepdog! How are you? I am very sorry about what you went through most of your life and very glad you finally got the help you needed.

And posting this to help others is greatly appreciated. It is true that some people do have issues with hormones or their metabolism that makes it difficult to lose weight and they can gain for seemingly no reason, only a specialist can help them discover what the problem is and find a proper solution.
