Ortho Cyclen Day Starting

I was just prescribed Ortho Cyclen and my doctor told me to start taking as soon as possible so I took that as in now. So i started taking it on Thursday. It was not the first day of my period, or Sunday obviously. Is there a reason they tell you to start the pack on one of those days? Did I screw up by starting it on a random day? What should I do?

No, it is fine to start it either way. The reason the instructions with the pill tell you to start it the first day of your menstrual cycle is to try to avoid disrupting your cycle.

Since you started it immediately, as per your doctor's instructions, all this means is that there will be a shorter period of time between this cycle and the next one, after that the time frame will be regular, again, as long as you continue taking it.
