Orphenadrine Er 100 Mg For Fibromyalgia
UpdatedI have been taking Orphenadrine ER 100 mg tablets for many years for fibromyalgia with no problem. Now my insurance said it is not used to treat fibromyalgia. What the heck? I'm allergic to the other meds and I can't afford it on $500 a month disability. What do I do now?

Hi Gamaboo22,
Sorry to hear about your situation. Do you happen to know who the manufacturer of your medication is? Perhaps they might have a patient assistance program to look into? Some drug companies offer this and some don't, but it may be worth checking.
Another option would be to utilize a free pharmacy coupon such as the one offered here on MedsChat at:
Rx Savings Card. With one of these savings cards, you may be able to cut costs down by 15-75%, hopefully making the medication attainable.
You could also try asking your doctor if there's any other generic or brand name versions of Orphenadrine ER that are cheaper at different dosages -or- if he is willing to help you out by saying that you take it for another reason than fibromyalgia... Your insurance company is doing a horrible thing by ignoring the fact that credible medical literature (such as medlineplus.gov) states that Orphenadrine is used to relieve pain and discomfort caused by strains, sprains, and other muscle injuries. Some minor rewording on your doctor's part could make all the difference without even having to lie to insurance. Pain is synonymous.
Hope this helps!
