I didn't find an exact match to your pill, but one that is very similar and could possibly be manufactured by the same company.
This round white pill I located has the imprint A 1/4 instead of A 1/8. It's identified as Metformin hydrochloride (1000 mg), and is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma. I would consider contacting them at the link below to see if they make the pill you are describing:
