Orange County Ca Pharmacies That Carry Actavis 30mg Oxy

Hello and first thank you for any helpful replies. I just moved to SoCal from NorCal and cannot find a pharmacy that carries generic Actavis 30mg IR Oxycodone. It has been my experience that generics made by KVK and Mallinekrodt make me sick. My doctor has heard other patients say this about Actavis products working better and the pharmacist I spoke to said it could be different binders/fillers/dyes that could be making me sick even though they are supposed to be inert. Can anyone name a pharmacy that carries Actavis 30mg IR Oxy in or near Orange County CA? I'm willing to drive acceptable distance to find them, to avoid the side effects of the other generics. Thank you.

Hello Matt,

Sorry to hear that the brands offered to you didn't suite you. It's interesting but I've noticed that a lot of people have been finding it difficult to obtain the Actavis brand. I wonder if this is due to a price increase or some sort of shortage.

Unfortunately I do not live in the area so I won't be able to give you an exact answer as to which pharmacy will work out for you but I do have some tips that I've picked up during my time on this forum.

1. It saves a lot of time to make phone calls instead of physically going into every location to see if the pharmacy has your brand and if not do they do special orders.

2. Smaller local pharmacies tend to have better customer service when it comes to obtaining a specific brand but sometimes can lead to slightly pricier medicine. If you are ok with the up charge try looking up some of these and giving them a call first.

3. Getting a doctors note stating that other medication doesn't suite you tends to help show your need for a specific brand.

4. Sometimes it helps to accept the medicine even if it makes you sick but ask for them to special order for future prescriptions. It shows you are willing to work with them.

I understand this isn't exactly what you wanted but I'm hoping to help you as much as I can while you wait for someone else in the area to give you a more direct answer. Hopefully this helps you get the brand you need before your next prescription comes up.
