Opioids & Constipation
UpdatedHello. I'm needing to take tramadol & co-codamol, but have bad constipation. Any thoughts on sticking to tramadol only maybe? Best wishes.

You can discuss that option with your doctor, it really depends on what works best for you to alleviate your pain.
However, in many cases, opioid related constipation can be alleviated by just increasing ones fiber intake through foods, or a fiber supplement.
Along with the risk of being habit forming, these medications may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth.
How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
You can get an over the counter stool softener or ask your doctor to prescribe one and make sure you are drinking lots of water. That should alleviate your constipation.
