Is it available now? ## I suppose the only to know for sure would be to contact Endo Pharmaceuticals directly, in order to find out what their true intentions are regarding the future of this medication. However, The American Society of Health System Pharmacists lists the following information pertaining to an Opana shortage: "Several Endo products that are manufactured at the Lincoln, Nebraska plant, are affected by this manufacturing suspension, including oxymorphone, Opana, and Opana ER." "Endo introduced new crush proof Opana ER tablets in late 2012. There are all new NDC numbers for these products. The NDC numbers for Opana ER with the older formulation have been discontinued." More specific detai...
How long does oxymorphone stay in your system for a lab UA? ## The general urine detection time for most opiates is 2 to 4 days, but it can vary slightly, depending on how long you have been taking it and how high of a dosage you've been taking. If you have a prescription for the medication, all you have to do is let them know that, when you go in for testing. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I have a friend that had been givin opana 60 mg time releasted and taken them for severe back pain, not form his doctor. he took them and stoped 6 days before a required drug test . the drug test was urine colected however sent to a ms-gs , what are the chances this will show up? although he will not admit it im inclinded to beleive this was taken in much higher doseds than reruire...
I take Opana 20mg twice a day, just had a urine test & came up negative! Also take Opana IR 10 mg 4 times a day for breakthrough pain. WHY DID MY URINE COME UP NEGATIVE!!! Now my doctor is taking off my meds will not refill my script..WTF!!! ## Have you changed anything in your diet, your fluid intake, or activity levels? Those can all have an effect on it. There is really no way that anyone here can give you a definitive answer. While narcotics are usually detectable in urine for 4 to 5 days after last dosing, it can vary from person to person. ## I have several friends that are on ms contins and they too show negative tests. However once it comes back from the big lab it shows positive. I dont know how that happens like that but it does. ## After 10 years with the same pm dr, a ne...
can't find it online anywhere, was said to be opana but it doesn't match anything I found on opana. its round, peach and has k2 on one side and its blank on the side ## I had K-4's which are Diladid I am pretty sure they make a K-2 as well. ## I thought the diladid were not round? ## The diladid i have are round k-4's. They are probley generic. ## To clear up any possible confusion… The round, peach tablet with the K2 on the same side actually contains 12.5mgs of Promethazine, which is an antihistamine that's commonly used to treat allergic reactions and nausea. Learn more Promethazine details here. It may cause side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. However, a round, peach tablet with a K on one side and a 2 on the opposite si...
40 on one side and nothing on the other, eight-sided, yellow ## 40 on one side and nothing on the other, eight-sided, yellow. What is this, so i know please. ## It si Opana Extended Release 40 mg. Also known as Oxymorphone. 10 times more potent than Morphine. Opana ER is used for: Treating pain in adults with constant (around-the-clock), moderate to severe pain that is expected to last for an extended period of time. This medicine is not for use right after surgery if you have not already been using narcotic pain relievers ## Who is the manufacturer??? Its not Endo? ## That is correct, this is a 40mg Opana ER tablet and yes, it is also manufactured by Endo Pharmaceuticals. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it does carry the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such ...
Does anyone know how long ENDO tested these new reformulated TRF's? Probably not long given that they reformulated it twice in a matter of months, first to a round glue like pill then to a round, concave glue-like pill. I ask because right around the time they reformulation took place I had reflux surgery - I thought it was successful until about 3-4 months later I started having terrible symptoms - I got tested and found I now have two ulcers! I think the new Opana gets into the esophagus and stays there for who knows how long - I don't think it's a coincidence that I never had ulcers until a few months after I started taking these reformulated pills. I can't think it's good to have that glue-like substance sitting in one's esophagus or stomach! I probably shoul...
UpdatedIs opana water soluble ## Not any more. They are made so you cannot dissolve and shoot. In July of 2012 they made them tamper proof just like the oxys. It will gel up. I imagine you could still eat a gelled up one, but it may be less effective. Most ways around this just ruin your pill, so take them as directed. ## The information provided by ZanZen is correct. In an effort to curtail abuse, as well as theft and diversion, the new Opana tablets have also been altered to help make them tamper/abuse proof. If you try to crush or dissolve them, they basically turn into a gummy goo. And, of course, trying to misuse them is very dangerous, as well as illegal, so I also support the statement that they should only be taken as directed and intended. Are there any other questions? Anyone wanting...
is the opana and oxycotin got the same ingredients in it and if not what pill has the same ingredients as a opana 30mg. I lost my medical Insurance and i cant afford the opana 30mg but they help me very well i was wondering if there was anything out there with the same ingredients but cheaper. ## Hi Susan, Based on my research, these two medications don't contain the same ingredients. Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, Oxycontin contains Oxycodone hydrochloride. From what I've read, some have had more success with Opana for pain and some have had more success with Oxycontin. They are both meant to help with pain, but I do believe that Opana is stronger. I hav ben going to a pain clinic for quiet some time and have tried so many combinations of pain meds tht I'm about to give up. I've had 2 back surgeries and need another one but I refuse. I have heard tht the ( old) formulation of opanas are hitting the shells as a generic and I'm curious if anyone wood hav n e info. Thanks. Bigbird ## No, they wouldn't be hitting as a generic. They can still be dispensed to fill prescriptions, until a pharmacy runs out of any supply they already had on hand, but once they are gone, that's it. Learn more Opana details here. What is relevant here, however, is that the generics have not been reformulated, yet. Thus, if you're having a problem with the name brand, then you should ask your doctor to prescribe the generic or specific...
I was in a severe accident in 2006 that caused many spinal fractures, herniated disks, and severe damage to my right knee. I've been seeing a pain management doctor who has prescribed me Opana 40 & 20mg. ER's to be taken every 12 hours. He also prescribes me Mobic for joint pain. The Opana does help with my spinal injuries, but doesn't seem to help my knee pain at all. The Mobic isn't working either. Should the Opana be helping me with my knee pain at all? I have been prescribed just about all of the available opiate medications including; oxycontin, methadone, the Duragesic fentynil patch, morphine, and nothing seems to be working. Is there anything available that would help my knee pain short of knee replacement surgery? Any information would be greatly appreciated...
does opana ir come in 40mg ## No, the available information on the drug lists the 40mg as only being available in the time released formulation of it. Oxymorphone is a narcotic analgesic and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any comments or questions? ## The only IR Opana is a 10mg strength and comes in generic as oxymorphone 10mg. Hope that helps. Usually if you take Opana ER 40mg, the doctor will also prescribe Opana 10mg to take every four to six hours as needed for breakthrough pain. I was prescribed that way for a long time, but now choose oxycodone 30mg over the Opana 10mg because the dosage is stronger because 1mg of opana=2mg oxycodone.
what is then dosage for oxymorphine er15 vs opana 40mg? ## Oxymorphone is the active ingredient in Opana, so the base dosage would be the same. The only difference in war you've listed is that the ER designates that one as being a time released formulation, rather than a regular release like the other one. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I don't understand your question. Opana 40mg is extended release and oxymorphone 15mg ER is the generic version of Opana 15mg ER. So the only difference is the strength as there is no such thing as instant release Opana 40mg. The only IR version of Opana is 10mg, which is available as the generic oxymorphone 10mg. I hope this answers your question, if not, please repost your question and make sure your last post was what you meant ...
Endo expects to finish converting patients to the new formulation of Opana ER in 2Q12. Generics/Patent: The patent on Opana ER has been challenged by many companies, namely, Sandoz (Novartis), Impax Laboratories, Teva, Watson, Actavis, Roxane Laboratories and Ranbaxy. The company has settled all disputes apart from the one associated with Ranbaxy which Endo has decided not to challenge. Consequently, Ranbaxy can sell the generic versions of Opana ER from September 9, 2013. Following the settlements with all other challengers, they have agreed not to challenge patents relating to Opana ER. Actavis launched the generic version of non-tamper resistant formulation of Opana ER (7.5 and 15 mg dosages) on July 15, 2011. Impax can sell generic versions of Opana ER from January 1, 2013. Sandoz, ...
Does a 5 Panel urine Drug Screen test for Opana also how long does a 15 mg pill show up if snorted? Did one 15 mg pill on Friday and took the urine test on Tuesday late afternoon today. What you guys think??? If it matters this was done at a labcorp also. Thanks for any positive responses.. ## 5 panel urine drug screens do check for opiates. Opiates, as a rule, remain detectable for 72 to 96 hours. So, you are possibly okay....possibly not. Sorry I can't completely lay your fears to rest. P.S. You really shouldn't be using opiates without a script and medical oversight. Especially one so strong.
My husband has severe rheumatoid arthritis and requires 24 pain management. We felt there were too many ups and downs with the 50 mcg fentanyl patch and asked for something new. Pain Management Dr. (PMD) changed him to MS Contin 15 mg. He was in bed for 4 solid days, was taking 4-6 percocet per day for breakthrough and was anorexic and irritable. He changed him to Opana ER 15. Can anyone explain how that might be more effective for him??? Thanks! ## Percocet is adding a lot of acetominiphine (sp?) That may end up hurting his stomach. My Dr. took me off Percocet and put me on oxycodone IR and Opana er. The Opana is 30mg. This works well for me. ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, which is a very potent narcotic. Learn more Opana details here. And it's really just a m...
I have been making call after call trying to find my Opana IR 10mg meds. ENDO Pharm. was no help. They used to at least try to find the meds but as of one hour ago, they would no longer provide that assistance. I take six 10mg tabs a day and I am terrified of the pain intensity I am going to have to face. Not only that, but I'm hearing that going from 60mg a day to zero, could land me in the ER. If I can find the Extended release version in stock somewhere, would I just be able to get more of those until this shortage is resolved? Has anyone been allowed to do that? I'm getting fed a lot of "don't know". Any ideas?UWKCT ## I feel your plight acl828, I usually take opana ir for breakthrough pain and have had a hell of a time finding it even in Chicago. Just ask your d...
I take Opana 30mg (2x p/d) & Roxicodone 15mg for break thru pain. I ran out of the Roxicodone and have been taking my wifes Vicodin 5/325's for the past two days (I've taken 10). I have also doubled up my Opana a few times. I have a drug test in 48hrs. Will this show up?

are they coming back out with the old opana er that is octagon shape? ## No, at this time, the manufacturer has no plans to rerelease the original product. However, this medication has cleared the proprietary marketing time frame and generics will be available on the market in the very near future. Learn more Opana details here. You may want to try asking your pharmacy when they'll be able to order it in for you. Are you also having problems with the new formulation?
Are opana's and oxycontin the same pills? I've heard they were! ## No, Oxycontin contains a time released formulation of Oxycodone. Learn more Oxycodone details here. While Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone. Learn more Opana details here. However, both are very potent narcotic analgesics. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How to avoid drug testing at pain Dr. Try scheduling your appointments in middle of your refill schedule, meaning you will have half of your monthly meds at the time of visit. This will allow you to show your meds to prove you are not abusing script, thus allowing some doctors to keep from testing you to see if you are abusing script. As for proving you are taking the medicine, simply skip does before visit....tell him you are your own d...
