Opana 10 Mg Equivalentcy

I was prescribed 10 mg Opana when my dr changed my 60 mg morphine to reduce the mg quantity due to the Narcotics and Controlled Substance bs. the pharmacist said it was equivalent as far as the dosage and ability to control the pain. I took a whole one due to not being able to break it and feel there is no comparison. Is this something that gets better the more you take it?

It actually takes 20mgs of Opana to equal each 60mgs of Morphine. So, that may be why you're not getting as much relief.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Have you informed your doctor that this dose isn't helping your pain?
