On 50mcg Fentanyl Patch And 5mg Oxy Ir

Have had multiple fusions on lumber in back patches dont seem to help to much and they have me taking 12 5mg oxy irs a day just wondering what would be a good substitute my in insurance wont cover oxy ers.Wondering if opanas would be a good substitute?

Both Oxycodone and Opana are very powerful narcotic pain medications. However, Opana (Oxymorphone) is said to be approximately 2x stronger than Oxycodone. In that regard, it may be a more desirable option for short-term pain relief. For longer relief, you can always check and see if Opana ER is covered under your insurance as well...

Keep in mind though that all opioids have different effects, where as there is no such thing as "equivalent" dosages. An "equivalent" dosage for one person could cause another to OD. With that said, I would only recommend taking proper dosing advice from your doctor.
