Omnacortil 10 Mg Side Effects

I am 28 year old boy.I am suffering from Chikungunya (sever joint pains, mostly ankle, knees and wrist). My doctor suggest me to take omnacortil 10 mg (2 tables) for 10 days, then reduces to 1 tablet for next days and then half table for next 10 days...so a total duration of 30 days... Is it alrite to intake this medicine which has steroid in it. I have a wound on my finger, but is almost healed. There is no fever as well.
