Omeprazole Manufacturers Changed And Meds Don't Work The Same (Top voted first)
UpdatedFor about 3 years now I have been taking Omeprazole 20mg. 1x a day, made by Reddy's, and have been feeling fine. Recently our prescription provider through our insurance sent me my new prescription made by Sandoz maufacturers; they are white as opposed to the bluish/gray made by Reddy's. I don't think they are working the same, does that make sense?

Hello, Martyz4! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having.
Why have you been taking it for so long?
Long-term use increases the risk of sudden hip fracture, which is why PPI's are usually only used for up to 4 months, at a time, then a break is taken.

And if you've been taking the same dosage for about 3 years, it could be that your body has just gotten used to the medication, so it's no longer as effective for you. That is normal and happens to everyone that takes a medication, in the same dose, for a long period of time.
I also have had my Omeprazole 20mg capsules changed, mine to G2321 pill ID.
I have tried taking 2, and still suffer, (acid reflux, heartburn).
I finally went to CVS & paid a fortune for the CVS generic Omeprazole 20mg. and all symptoms were gone with the first capsule.
I ordered another refill and got the same stuff, what recourse do I have?
