Off Loestrin 24 Fe And Now Bleeding Like Crazy

I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about 5 years now and i absolutely love it. Hardly ever get my period and craziness/mood swings definitely at a minimal. However, I stopped taking it because I lost my job and didn't have insurance and I just got my period for the first time since being off of it and I am bleeding through super tampons almost every hour. Will this seriously only last for 5 days because It feels like it will never stop. and will my periods be like this every time??

Yes, it could be due to stopping the contraceptives, since your body has to rebalance your hormone levels.

However, it's difficult to say how long it will last and it it will happen again. It all depends on your body and how fast it adjusts.

I was only on lo loestrin fe for about 6 months, and just stopped taking the pill because the side effects were too much for me to handle.
the month before I stopped, I had about 2 weeks worth of brown discharge in place of when I should have had a period and otherwise hadn't noticed any significant changes in periods, as in I never missed any while on the pill. I want to think its because I hadn't been on it long enough for my body to have adjusted.

But now this is my first month off, and I haven't gotten my period yet. Do you think I should be concerned?
